Client
WorldPay provides a globally connected, locally coordinated payment processing service
for all sorts of businesses, big and small. WorldPay operate in over 40 countries and is a major
global leader in payment processing. The company pioneered online payments for small and
medium sized businesses and process millions of online payments every day.
Business Challenge
Due to having recently divested from
a larger group, WorldPay was looking
to reduce expenditure. Spend against
approved budget had also become
a concern.
Contracts needed to be novate and
new contracts negotiated without
interruption in business operations
across the UK region. The project
evolved from separation to savings
delivery as the project progressed.
Our Approach
In order to obtain the best solution
possible it was crucial to engage
members at board level. WorldPay’s
Chief Risk Officer was named project
sponsor and obtained support for
the initiative from the CEO.
Incumbent suppliers were preferred
by Worldpay stakeholders so market
benchmarking was used to ensure
that competition remained during
these negotiations. Viable exit
strategies were also created.
The subsequent negotiation was
led by 4C and required a myriad of
skills, including stakeholder
management, market research,
negotiation planning and negotiation
and underlined WorldPay’s intention
to build a more strategic relationship
with the supplier which would
guarantee long term commitment.
Feedback
“Having worked with 4C on several
projects now, I felt assured having
them assigned as procurement
resource on a project. Through
working closely with me and the key
stakeholders of the project (who
changed on three occasions),
4C were able to get a good grip on
the project requirements and really
understand the points at which a
vendor would be able to provide real
value add services. This allowed us to
make an effective vendor selection
based on our knowledge of the
vendor and previous ability to deliver
projects to specification, within time
and to budget”
- Ian Belsham, Head of Risk Projects
and MI
Benefits Delivered
Full separation was delivered followed
by sustainable savings of over £7m
delivered against a spend in scope of
£60m. Category plans were developed
for the following year identifying a
further £10m on the remaining scope
of £140m. This was to be delivered by
an internal team as part of our
transition plan.
Savings were made on Hardware,
Software and Terminals of over 13% .
Projects existed on Data Centres,
Telecoms (incl. mobile and VOIP),
and ERP systems. Terminals are a
significant area of spend for Worldpay
where we were able to consolidate
and leverage to obtain additional
savings on already below market
pricing.
HR and Professional Services was also
a lucrative area with savings delivered
through establishment of recruitment
PSLs, development of consulting
rosters and demand management
approvals processes to control
maverick spend.

The Manetti family has owned
Fontodi since 1969 but has been in
Chianti for centuries. Though they
havealwaysmadewine,theirprimary
business is still the production
of Chianti’s finest terracotta at
their factory in Ferrone. Giovanni
Manetti has run the property since
1980 and ensures the wines are as
meticulously made as the vineyards
are immaculately tended. Their
80 hectares of vineyard, 90% of
which are Sangiovese, are situated
in the prime ‘conca d’oro’ (golden
shell) of Panzano, and over the
past six years the seed to organic
viticulture. Giovanni is now following
biodynamic principles to obtain the
best quality fruit.

TENT CARDS
Designed A6 double sided 2 page and 4 page spread
tent cards which incorporated brand guidelines of the
many customers. Corporate colours, imagery, fonts and
style guides were followed and in some cases new style
guides were created to match the new corporate identity.
Communication with clients was vital while designing the
tent cards as pricing and tasting notes had to be perfect to
entice customers.

  • 12. PowerPoint Slides Re-designed 4C Associates PowerPoint presentation slides. This included a new title page a main body page with a sample case study and a blank page. I looked at colour, layout, presentation and typography using corporate colours and current branding. Welcome to 4C Associates Suggested redesign of WorldPay case study and slide template Presented by Satvinder Rooprai March 2014 Case Study 4 Client WorldPay provides a globally connected, locally coordinated payment processing service for all sorts of businesses, big and small. WorldPay operate in over 40 countries and is a major global leader in payment processing. The company pioneered online payments for small and medium sized businesses and process millions of online payments every day. Business Challenge Due to having recently divested from a larger group, WorldPay was looking to reduce expenditure. Spend against approved budget had also become a concern. Contracts needed to be novate and new contracts negotiated without interruption in business operations across the UK region. The project evolved from separation to savings delivery as the project progressed. Our Approach In order to obtain the best solution possible it was crucial to engage members at board level. WorldPay’s Chief Risk Officer was named project sponsor and obtained support for the initiative from the CEO. Incumbent suppliers were preferred by Worldpay stakeholders so market benchmarking was used to ensure that competition remained during these negotiations. Viable exit strategies were also created. The subsequent negotiation was led by 4C and required a myriad of skills, including stakeholder management, market research, negotiation planning and negotiation and underlined WorldPay’s intention to build a more strategic relationship with the supplier which would guarantee long term commitment. Feedback “Having worked with 4C on several projects now, I felt assured having them assigned as procurement resource on a project. Through working closely with me and the key stakeholders of the project (who changed on three occasions), 4C were able to get a good grip on the project requirements and really understand the points at which a vendor would be able to provide real value add services. This allowed us to make an effective vendor selection based on our knowledge of the vendor and previous ability to deliver projects to specification, within time and to budget” - Ian Belsham, Head of Risk Projects and MI Benefits Delivered Full separation was delivered followed by sustainable savings of over £7m delivered against a spend in scope of £60m. Category plans were developed for the following year identifying a further £10m on the remaining scope of £140m. This was to be delivered by an internal team as part of our transition plan. Savings were made on Hardware, Software and Terminals of over 13% . Projects existed on Data Centres, Telecoms (incl. mobile and VOIP), and ERP systems. Terminals are a significant area of spend for Worldpay where we were able to consolidate and leverage to obtain additional savings on already below market pricing. HR and Professional Services was also a lucrative area with savings delivered through establishment of recruitment PSLs, development of consulting rosters and demand management approvals processes to control maverick spend. 5
