The high cost of living in Hawaii has led to the highest homeless rates in the US. One solution is a plan to build a village of about 150 homes on Oahu for 630 homeless adults and children, with amenities like gardens, daycare, and preschool. Construction is set to begin in December 2018. Another potential solution is to build "mini houses" as low-cost housing, as has been done in Seattle, WA, since they would meet Hawaii's smaller housing permit requirements.

A plan to build about 150 homes for
630 adults and children, with gardens,
daycare center and preschool.

6. • The village will be 11.3 of the peninsula’s 13
acres. One and two bedroom units will have
their own bathrooms and kitchens. They are
created after a model of homes originally built
for the Tohoku earthquake and Tsunami
victims.

The first 30 families are projected to move in by
