Sarah K. Heindel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also has a minor in Women, Culture & Development. During her time at UCSB, she held several internships and assistant positions including working as a research intern at Direct Relief International where she gathered data on health care facilities and created spreadsheets for an interactive map, and assisting a professor with a documentary by transcribing footage and managing fundraising. She also volunteered at the Santa Barbara Coastal Long Term Ecological Research Project organizing samples and identifying species.
