Graham Sarah reference letter 5-2016-2
- 1. May 20, 2016
Re: Sarah Graham
To whom it may concern:
I have known Sarah Graham throughout her four years as a student at Troy University,
most notably through her work for the Palladium, the university yearbook. I am the
Palladium’s faculty adviser.
Sarah has been one of the core group of students who make the yearbook work. They
participate tirelessly in organizational and production activities and are the ones I go to
when a task needs doing or a problem needs solving.
Sarah’s specialty is photography, but she has contributed to most aspects of the
yearbook. During her time here, she and other students have doubled the size of the
book (to 404 pages), significantly improved its content and design, and converted it
from mostly black-and-white pages to full color. They have sharply reduced the staff’s
reliance on the university’s professional photographer, instead using photos shot by
Sarah and other students.
I asked Davis Gamble, who has been the yearbook’s student editor for two years, for his
comments on Sarah’s work.
“Sarah is one of the most dependable people you could ever meet in your lifetime,” he
said. “If you need something done, she’ll get it done, no matter how difficult. She’s very
prioritized. She makes sure she gets done what she needs to get done. … If she doesn’t
know it, she learns it.”
Sarah is an accomplished photographer whose skills have been valuable not only to the
Palladium but also to the University Relations department. I feel sure that her
photography portfolio, as well as her experience working with zoo animals, contributed
to her earning an exclusive Environmental and Travel Journalism Internship in South
Africa this summer.
Sarah’s high quality of work, dependability and work ethic make her an excellent
person to consider if you are hiring.
Please contact me if I can provide further information.
