to the trend is industrial furniture
and lighting with elements of wood
and leather together with faded
floral fabrics within our bedding
and cushions range.

Santorini is our new Essentials
home collection with which we
aim to change our customers
expectations. There is a fresh
new colour
palette at great value.
We are moving away from the
hot colours of recent seasons.
Aquatic cool colours of tonal
blues are balenced with sand
and white.
Texture is key, with baskety,
rough chunky blonde wood,
matt finishes, smooth paint,
recylced bubble glass,
crochet and natural mats.
The patterns are smaller, ditsy
incidentals, gentle ikats,
moorish tiles and suggestions of
traditional patterns reworked
with effects or play of scale.
Ombre, chambray, linen look
and marl cotton knit fabrics.
Task lighting, white uneven
ceramic shapes, natural coloured
and textured shades. Expect
a mix of material in hard goods,
ceramic with leather or rope
trims, glass or ceramic with
wooden details.

merchandising. Balance areas of pattern
with blocks of colour and break textile
elements up with hard products.
Visuals
White wash crates and pallets can be
used to enhance displays adding height
and a variety of levels. Accents of blue
and Aqua can be used but these are just
to be highlights. Props should remain
prodominently white.

Autumn Winter 15
Weeks 2-4 to launch in store on Tuesday 7th September
The Seventies have really got us excited this season and we have mixed the different pattern
references together, united by a tight cosy autumnal palette. Biba inspired florals, carpet
style Kilim designs and earthenware motifs are all explored to produce this highly decorative
range, equally at home in a classic or a contemporary environment. Texture is key so there
is a broad mix of tan leather, shaggy furs, fringing and beading to bring real eclecticism to
the story. Grounded by teak wooden furniture and an Indian summer palette of teal,
burgundy, marigold and rust with highlights of leaf green and ochre.

◆ The new 'Holly Willoughby For the Home' collection is a mix of soft,
feminine vintage prints and shapes mixed with vintage retro lighting
and clocks.
◆ Holly’s style is French Country meets the Hamptons. It is clean,

JANUARY
Our new theme Delphinium & Daffodil promoting our
Essentials product is a neutral story layered with bursts
of blue and yellow highlights.
FEBRUARY
Sweet Nostalgia is an instagram vintage story inspired by
memories of hazy summer days. The florals are a palette of
muted tones of sage sienna pink and the darkest charcoal
and deepest teal, set against sunny shots of yellow and
orange.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS SEASON Moodboards
As ever, the season will be underpinned with the Spring Lighting Event which will start in week
28 and will run for 5 weeks. With the AW15 event returning it’s best performance to date, we
must be striving to continue to break some records during SS16. As usual, the event will be fully
supported with primary window and in store graphics package.
Outdoor Living continues to be an extremely important focus this season. LY saw one of the
biggest Furniture performances ever together with Outdoor Dining and Picnic hampers having
their most successful season to date. Underpinning the sales will be our Beach Towel range
This year, we will be launching with 3 key looks…….Aztec, Flower Power and Verdigris. We have
brand new and improved ranges launching across Furniture, Dining and Beach Towels which will
drive a real point of difference within the Division as a whole.
As well as all of the above, we have continued to drive newness into all departments. The launch
of Elsie Rose and Luxe within Bedding is an exciting new departure for us. Lighting continues to
push boundaries with exciting new launches planned across the department.

task lights, mixed with electroplated oversized
clusters and angular smoked stacked designs.

exposed bulbs, reclaimed wood and distressed
metal finishes.

LIGHTING Must know...
Merchandising the canope
◆ Stand back and check that your canopy lights are not clashing against one
another and you can see all lights from the front of the fixture. The lighting
specialist must be over 18 years of age and must have been on and passed a
Safe Working with Electricity Training Course.
◆ Make sure that your canopy lighting is staggered on each track and spaced in
proportion to the display table below.
◆ Adjust the heights and move the lights if necessary to create a clear statement
and still be able to see each light.
◆ Make sure the canopy lights are not over spilling into other ranges.
◆ Ensure every canopy light is lit.
◆ Ensure signage is correctly displayed.
◆ Always show newest lines on the front of the fixture.

REMEMBER...
◆ Ideally ceiling fittings should be hung at differing heights throughout
the departments by adjusting the length of the chain, cable or
adapter (refer to previous pages on merchandising tips).
◆ There should be a representation of every light on the top of the
unit, with stock massed out below.
◆ The fixture should be fully stocked at all times.
◆ All lights should be correctly bulbed and lit.
◆ Ensure matching items are hung next to or close together.
◆ Remember to display signage in the centre of your fixture on the
middle shelf.
