Salam Recommendation
1. To Whom It May Concern,
This summer the Mercy Corps Action Center in partnership with Portland State
University took part in the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). This program
brings 18 university students from 13 different countries for a month to Portland
Oregon for an intensive leadership program. Salam Shebli was an unforgettable
member of this group, each day she brought her excellent communication skills,
enthusiasm for a new challenge and profound critical insights to the creative process.
Salam has both the conviction to create social change and the communication skills
to build capacity for her cause. During the program Salam grew her technical skills
of project management and increased her understanding of project implementation.
Through the course of the program Salam gained confidence in her ideas and learned
the skill of presenting her projects in a compelling manner.
Salam was an outstanding participant in this year’s program, her continuous
enthusiasm and willingness to take on big and small projects made her invaluable.
Salam has an amazing work ethic and responsibility to whatever she commits herself
too. It was a pleasure working with Salam; I look forward to seeing what she does in
the future.
Sincerely,
Kendra Manton
