Know Your KeywordsAside from any type of advertising in the budget foryour app, ideally, the best way to reach your potentialcustomers or audience is to include a ‘keyword’ in yourapps name. That means making your app moresearchable through using a term that your target fanbase would search for. For example your band ororganizations name would be the most basic way toname your app.
Tips:Search for your potential name in the different appstores to see what you find!Make sure your name is memorable, easy to spell andsearch.Protect yourself! This could become a legal issue!Research the guidelines for your particular platform, for example: Palm, Android or Apple
Remember:You don’t have to use a name that is directly linked tosomething already established. You can think outsidethe box and name your app based on an originalcreation like ‘angry birds’ or ‘fruit ninja’ these appsbecame popular and therefore created their target keyword. ;)
Remember:Some app names are taken or prohibited. Don’t buy anyURLs or begin branding yourself with out making100% sure that your name can be used! For official marketing rules from apple themselves see:http://developer.apple.com/appstore/AppStoreMarketingGuidelines.pdf
Finally,If your app name starts out as Whatagwan for “what’sgoing on” in a Jamaican accent... change it to PArts.Trust me.Actually, don’t, because that’s the name of my app. ; )
