The African Women Awards - THE EVENT FORMAT An awards conferment ceremony will be held in the evening following the conference after a short break. The awards event will confer awards on pre-selected women–derived from a public nomination process conducted independently by the organizers themselves - drawn from all across Africa for their exemplary conduct and achievements in various fields of economic, social, cultural, artistic and recreational activity. It will be attended by awardees, participants at the preceding conference, leading entrepreneurs, corporate executives, professionals, public officials (both sovereign and multinational) diplomats, civil society leaders, traditional rulers and the international media, again on a strictly by invitation basis. his is designed as a one day conference that will run from morning to
about noon under the theme: Celebrating Women’s Economic And
Socio-Cultural Achievements In Africa Amidst The Pandemic
As the theme suggests it will focus on identifying and addressing challenges
to the optimization of women’s direct involvement in economic (including
socio-economic)activities both within their respective national jurisdictions
and on a cross border basis, sub regional pan African and intercontinental
business activities all inclusive.
The conference will comprise a welcome address by the chief organizer, a
special address by the Special Guest of Honor, a key note address by the
Delegated official from your outfit and about three technical presentations
by selected experts in pertinent fields of expertize.
The conference will be largely interactive and will be attended both
physically and by virtual participation using digital channels, depending on
the preference of each invited guest. However attendance will be strictly by
invitation comprising primarily women but also a sizeable number of men in
positions of authority to effect positive change, largely from Africa itself but
also from other continents, particularly Western Europe and North America.
At the end of the conference a communique will be produced for circulation
to the relevant institutions of state all around Africa as well as pertinent sub
regional, pan African and global multilateral institutions.

4. Over the past two decades, affirmative action towards ensuring gender equality and
providing support for the social and economic empowerment has been on the rise all
around the world, Africa inclusive. Indeed, because of the predominant cultural practices
hitherto rife across most of Africa which have restrained its female populace from achieving
anywhere near their full potentials, the continent requires such affirmative action more
than any other part of the world.
Consequently our awards scheme sets out to draw attention to the capabilities of African
women when released from their societal leash, and the positive impacts they can have
on the continent’s socio-economic growth and development. This we seek to achieve by
identifying and recognizing the feats of a collection of exemplary African women from all
around the continent, who would consequently be positioned as models for the rest of
the female populace to emulate. To this end we would subsequently promote them and
facilitate deliberate contributions by them as an organized, formal grouping, to Africa’s
ongoing socioeconomic renaissance.
