3. BAJA Collection
The Inspiration of this project comes from Taiwan. It is a
type of traditional worship called Ba Jia Jiang, which means
eight generals of God. The ceremony consists 8 to 10 men
transforming themselves thru makeup and costume into
well known ancient Taiwanese generals. Once transformed
they patrol the streets dancing and coming into contact
with spirits from other worlds. Their aim is to rid the city
of ghosts and evil spirits.
The face makeup is inspired by Chinese opera and
Taiwanese myth and folklore. Each general wears a unique
costume and holds a special weapon because each has a
different duty to perform.

The Taiwan Aboriginals Collection is inspired by the 14 Taiwanese aboriginal groups' icons. Each group has a different
icon that comes from own cultural and rituals. The pattern for the shoes brings all 14 Aboriginal icons together.
