Survey Results
Q1 I wanted to get an idea of the
age the people were who took
my survey. 80% of people who
took my survey were between
the ages of 13-18 which was a
good amount because this age
range is my target audience. It’s
still helpful that I’ve got a wider
age range because there will
also be people outside the
target age range who will
purchase the magazine.
Q2 Artists/Bands mentioned:
Two Door Cinema Club
Jessie J
Lucy Rose
The Black Keys
The Killers
Girls Aloud
The Script
Mumford and Sons
Nina Nesbitt
Django Django
Frightened Rabbit
Foster the People
Q3
• Shocking or interesting stories
• Artist Profiles
• Fashion Column
• Ones about bands
• Interviews
• Album reviews, personal stories, future careers,
behind the scenes, humorous interviews
• Interviews with the artist, where the next gigs
are, music festivals.
• Festival comparisons
• Updates and information about my favourite
artists/bands.
• I enjoy reading reviews on albums or
artists/bands recent performances. Any behind
the scenes or rumour information on festivals is
also interesting.
• Upcoming Artists
• Life stories
• Exclusive news, shocking facts or information
and for the double page, I like to read about
the artists life
• Fashion related articles
• Band interviews
Q4
50% so half of the people I
surveyed liked Indie Pop, as
this was the most popular I
decided to make my
magazine more based
around Indie Pop.
Q5 A lot of people
considered the price,
18/20 people who took
this survey said ‘Yes’.
So I made sure that the
price of my magazine
was affordable and I
made the price of the
magazine not stand out
as much on the
magazine so it wasn’t
one of the first things
people notice.
Q6
If possible everyone
would pay the minimum
amount, this is obvious.
And the maximum
amount people would pay
is between the £2.50-
3.49. I think I want to
question my target
audience more about the
price.
Q7
The two most popular were ‘Interviews being included inside’ and
‘Information on festivals and gigs.’ So I’ll make sure that these two
features will make up quite a bit of my magazine. Also freebies
encouraged a lot of people so I might include free posters within
my magazine.
Q8 Around 40% of people sometimes buy music magazines, with
a small amount of only 15% buying them weekly. As 40% of
people buy them sometimes and 25% of people buying them
monthly I’m going to make my magazine a monthly issue.
Q9
65% of people were interested in seeing new upcoming artists
being shown on the front cover and featured inside the
magazine. I was happy this is what my target audience wanted
because my magazine ‘Promo’ is about promoting new artists.
If the option for well-known artists was more popular I would
have had to chance the concept of my idea.
Q10
Most people get their music from online
stores such as iTunes.
Q11 Most people access new music and
interviews online so at the end of my article
in my magazine I added a point saying you
can find out more information online.
Q12 A massive 90% of people attend festivals
and gigs so I need to ensure I include
information about festivals and gigs in my
magazine.
