 Group Discussion or GD is a type of discussion that
involves people sharing ideas or activities. People in the
group discussion are connected with one basic idea.
Based on that idea, everyone in the group represents
his/her perspective.

Mistakes to avoid in a Group Discussion
 Stop taking leads if you do not know much
 Do not hesitate to initiate the discussion
 Do not copy anyone else ideas or comments
 Do not avoid eye contact with other participants while
speaking
 Do not lose confidence in the whole discussion
 Do not speak slowly
 Try to contribute in a discussion rather than just speaking

Reference check
Reference check is a process of getting information about a person
from his previous employers, his schools, college and other
available sources. Through reference checks, the company confirms
the information given by the individual during the job application,
and the companies verifies information like education, work
experience, family back ground, personal identification etc. This is
usually done by the employer before hiring a job applicant.
Main purposes of reference checks
 They verify the truthfulness of the information provided by the
applicant.
 They check if the applicant has any criminal background or history.
 They check if the applicant has the right skill set for the job.
 They can help identify patterns of behavior of the applicant during
his/her time working with the previous employer.
 They can help predict success in his/her new job.
Performance test

assess the skills necessary
for specific jobs.
EX : physical skills
Job related skills
Mental ability
Ability to learn from experience, adapt to new situations
,understand and handle concepts etc.,
These tests don’t measure what you know , they measure how
you think.

  1. In a group discussion a topic will be given to the candidates .the candidates may be range from 5to7or 7to12 based on their strength and they share their ideas views and opinions based on the topic with a face to face interaction. Thae main purpose of conducting a group discussion is to test the candidate skills like communication skil , leadership skill , team work , listening ability confidence body language and problem solving skills etc., of the applicants.
  2. There are two types of group discussions one is topic based and another one is case study based G.D. 1) controversial topics are argumentative topics Ekkada valu eche topic anevi argument ni create chesela vuntaye andhuvala ( Elanti topics echi candidate way of conversation ,behavior ,temper ,body language etc., Ela vunnai ani observe chestharu. 2) Abstract topics means where there is no scope to speake about the topic . Ekkada aa topic gurinchi discuss chesendhuku ekkuva matter gani info kani vundadhu EX: black & white Rose is better then Lillie Elanti topics ni abstract topics antaru RARE 3) Factual topics means present scenario whats going on and what country is facing and general problems in society Elanti vatini factual topics antaru for EX: population problem ,Reservation problem or coreption Enka emaina present face chese problems ni topics ga echi vatiki solutions ni expect chestharu at the same time mi way of thinking ,Knowledge ect., observe chestharu. Case study : Ekkada oka Particular topic ni echi solve cheyamentaru .
