Funding for clean source of water

1. WATER FOR THE COMMUNITY
FUNDRAISING
My name is Rosemary Magida. I am a Zimbabwean based in South Africa. I
went to school in Masvingo and we used to travel a lot to our village in
Serima, Gutu district. My community is in dire need of clean, quality and
quantity water to use. All the money raised here will be administered by my
sister, brother in law and me, which will be transparently accounted for
through updates on progress in forms of pictures and videos. I will also work
with the village herds, chiefs and councillors for clear guidance.

2. WATER FOR THE COMMUNITY
FUNDRAISING
As you probably already are aware:
 About 3 in every 9 children die from water-related illnesses.
 According to a report by World Economic Forum, the water crisis is
the number 4 global risk in terms of impact to society and my
Community in Zimbabwe is no exception.
 Currently Zimbabwe is in the centre of an intense drought and
approximately, over four million people are facing starvation and are
in dire need of water and food.
 Recovery in the agriculture, Education, and economy sectors will be
backed by increased improvement in accessibility to clean and safe
water.
 Zimbabwe is a very rich country in terms of natural resources and
free land which the country could utilize to its people's benefit.

3. ABOUT CLEAN WATER
 Clean water provides nourishment to the body.
 Prevents diseases like Typhoid, Cholera and Hepatitis A that are
acquired as a result of unclean water usage.
 Good for agriculture and food production- if the crops and grains
are given contaminated water, the bacteria and diseases will also
spread to the human body when consumed.
 Improved sanitation facilities – washing, cooking and cleaning
house holds.

4. GOAL
To reduce the risk of water-related diseases and deaths in the
community by 60%.

5. OBJECTIVES
 In 6 months, there should be an increased access to clean and safe
water for the whole community of approximately 6 783.
 Improved health i.e. reduced water-borne diseases and deaths by
60% in 6 months.
 Improved access to water for the poor and marginalised citizens,
the girl child and women in particular.
 Promotion of small scale farming
 Increased community confidence in the water quality and quantity
By November2020.

6. WHO WILL BENEFIT?
 This fundraiser will be to support the accessibility of clean water for:
 My mother
 My relatives
 Women and the girl child in the community
 The elderly
 The sick
 Schools around
 The churches
 Small scale farmers

7. APPROACH AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Drilling Contractor will function under the direct supervision of
myself, my sister, my mother, my brother in law and my son. All drilling
activities will be approached through communication and discussion
amongst my sister, my brother in law, myself and the Drilling
Contractor with a view to developing the most suitable and mutually
acceptable finished product. Regular updates and accounting will be
provided regularly for the satisfaction of the donors. Records of all
purchased items and paid labour will be kept securely.
