• run a home for displaced families
• help people recovering from addiction
• work with teens and help them to understand the danger of joining a gang and doing drugs
• run a home that would help people, especially men, transitioning from prison

neigborhoodoutof gangsand off the streets.
 Pizzanightonce a weekwithall the kidsinthe neighborhood andtalkedtoaboutthe dangerof doingdrugsand
joiningagang. Itgivesme great satisfactionwhenI runintomanyof those kids overthe years, whowouldtell
me how importantthose Tuesdaynightswere tothemandhow muchit made a differentintheirlife.
Role Model:
Four or five timesayearI run intoone of the kidsthatwere on one of my sport teamsandtheythank me for giving
themsomethingtodoand keepingthemoff the street.Thentheyalwaysgoonto tell me a success story,perhaps
joiningthe military,graduatingfromcollege,beingafull time employee andsuccessful father.
I was at an AA meetinginWorcesterlastsummerandran intothree people who rememberwhenIuse togo to the
prisonandgive advice aboutalcohol anddrugs andtheytoldme the reasontheydecidedchange theirlifeisbecause of
somethingIsaidandthe example Isetforthem.
