One Day Demonstration Using "Google Earth Satellite Class Discussions and Open Group Interactions Zoom down from space and show the change in perspective as you get closer to the ground. What familiar landmarks are evident? What Landmarks are recognizable from space? Show the design of a corn maze from altitude and then visit the site with satellite maps in hand . What can we learn from satellite photographs? How can maps be used to analysis vegetation and the different types of land features? Learning Objectives: List the Major Geographic Features that you see Are They Natural or Man-Made? What can we tell about Agriculture and Population Density? Can We Monitor Changes from Year to Year? How do Satellites Stay in Space? Learning Standards: Topic: Mapping the Earth Grade: 6, 7, 8 Recognize, interpret, and be able to create models of the earth's common physical features in various mapping representations, including contour maps.
