Foreword
Vyman Solicitors Ltd was founded in 1998 and has grown from a 2 partner
practice to a firm that employs circa 100 staff in Harrow and Kent.
Our Directors, Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, Paralegals and support staff are the
foundation of our practice. We could not have achieved the success we have
without the massive support, hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and
commitment of our team members.
We recognise that to continue our success, we must attract, recruit and retain
the best people. In return for hard work, dedication and commitment, you will
benefit from a challenging environment and an opportunity to learn and grow

I joined Vyman in
November 2015 as a Senior
Solicitor in the Litigation
Department, having previously worked in both
private practice and in-house. I was subsequently
promoted to Director and Head of Litigation and now
head a team of 3 solicitors and a paralegal. The
quality of the work is excellent – certainly
comparable to many City firms – and the Department
has had a number of reported cases over the years.
The Department has a breadth of knowledge and
experience, and one of the best things is the
collaboration amongst the team when one of us
wants to ‘brainstorm’ a particularly difficult legal
issue. The junior members of the department are
given as much guidance and support as they need,
whilst at the same time being taught how to stand on
their own two feet and develop into confident,
independent thinking lawyers by following a career
path from paralegal to trainee to solicitor.
There is a great deal of flexibility and autonomy in
working at Vyman which everybody appreciates – all
in all it’s a great place to work!

Dispute Resolution
Our well-respected team covers various areas of the
dispute resolution world including commercial and
business disputes, partnership and shareholder
disputes, financial and banking litigation, property
disputes, landlord and tenant disputes, insolvency
related matters, professional negligence and wills and
probate disputes.
We provide cost effective and bespoke solutions to
deal with cutting edge, high value disputes, many of
which have an international element, in sectors such
as the film and television industry, construction,
banking and property investment and development.
Our departments
Commercial Property
We offer a one stop shop for commercial property
services (for investors and owner occupiers) from
acquisition, planning, property development and
property re/finance, through to construction, disposal
and asset management.
Our connections within the property and finance world
are highly valued by our clients.
We find practical commercial solutions, underpinned
by a tenacious determination to get the deal done.
Corporate & Business Law
Our team provides professional advice for UK and
cross-border corporate transactions, including private
mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements,
joint ventures, corporate re-organisations, and
corporate advisory work.
We have a proven track record in corporate law
matters, acting for numerous clients, ranging from well
established companies and financial institutions to
early-stage businesses, partnerships, and high net
worth individuals and investors.
Residential Conveyancing
Our team strives to build excellent relations with all
those involved in the property chain. We offer a range
of services such as buying/selling, transfer of equity,
equity release, shared ownership and help to buy. We
provide cost effective bespoke services to all our
clients.

Immigration
Our team has extensive experience in navigating
clients through borders.
Each immigration case is different. Our specialist
areas include indefinite leave to remain, British
citizenship, sponsorship licences, marriage/spouse
visas, judicial reviews, immigration appeals, other
family visas and more.
Criminal Defence
Our Criminal Defence department is one of the
leading and largest in Kent. We are on a number of
duty solicitor schemes and magistrates’ court
schemes and we focus on legally aided criminal
defence matters.

Employment Law
Employment law governs what employers can expect
from employees, what employers can ask employees
to do, and employees’ rights at work.
Our team provides legal advice for all employment law
matters whether you are an employee or employer.
We have a proven track record of successfully
handling matters such as settlement agreements,
redundancies, unfair dismissal claims, harassment
and bullying, discrimination, breach of contract and
more.
Family Law
Our family law department offers a high quality
personable service to clients. Clients are offered a
cost effective, bespoke service to help resolve the
consequences of the breakdown of a marriage or
relationship through discussion and negotiation. Our
specialist areas include divorce, separation, financial
and property claims, domestic violence, children
matters including contact and residence disputes. We
also advise on and prepare pre-nuptial and post-
nuptial agreements.
Private Client
Our private client team provides tailored advice on
wills, trusts and probate, helping clients protect their
assets for future generations.
We provide specialist advice on inheritance tax, digital
assets, estate planning and lasting powers of
attorneys.
After graduating
from Warwick University
in 2017, I joined Vyman
Solicitors as a Paralegal.
I was impressed with the support, responsibility and
mentoring provided from day one. Everyone was
willing to take time to teach me how to complete
certain tasks that were new to me.
After completing my LPC, I was thrilled to be offered
a training contract where I gained exposure to
Directors/Senior Solicitors in different areas such as
Family Law, Commercial Property, Wills and Probate.
As a newly qualified Solicitor, I chose to specialise in
Family Law - I am still learning and I look forward to
developing my skill set and building strong
relationships with clients.
Nirali Adhia

Roles within the firm
Heads of Department
Each of our Heads of Department has a proven track
record of being a successful lawyer and team leader.
They are responsible for managing their teams, client
relationships and business development.
Their strengths and qualities include leadership skills,
wisdom and maturity of thought and judgment, being
highly respected based upon a strong reputation, being
a team player and being commercially aware and
astute. They are skilled in business development,
entrepreneurship, marketing and management of
clients, people, finances and risk.

Directors
Each of our Directors also has a track record as a
successful lawyer, client and people manager and
committed team player.
They are also able to demonstrate good business
development and marketing skills, client retention and
management skills, entrepreneurial skills and a proven
ability to train, supervise and manage other lawyers
and support staff.
Before joining Vyman
Solicitors, I had worked in the
City. This sparked my interest
in commercial property, and I gained experience in
dealing with all aspects of commercial property work
ranging from landlord and tenant matters to sales and
acquisitions.
I joined Vyman Solicitors in 2016 as a Senior Solicitor
and was promoted to a Director within a couple of
years. Now, as Head of the Commercial Property
Department, I actively look to grow the department, and
nurture and mentor staff members to achieve their
maximum potential.
The Department has grown significantly over the last
few years and currently is one of the largest within the
firm. Each member (including paralegals, trainees,
solicitors and senior consultants) plays an important
role and contributes his or her own strength and
expertise to the firm. Whilst the Department is busy and
can be pressured at times, we have a great team ethos.
We work together and help each other, which makes
work both rewarding and enjoyable.
I find that hard work and commitment is valued in the
firm and is rewarded. Support and guidance is provided
every step of the way to encourage personal growth
and taking your career to the next level. Working at
Vyman is a breath of fresh air – good work life balance
without compromising the quality of work and service
offered to clients.

I embarked on my career
as a Paralegal gaining
experience in the commercial
and corporate department.
I was subsequently offered a training contract giving
me exposure to high value commercial property and
share transactions, which meant more responsibility
to handle matters myself and develop client relations.
I enjoy the work that I do and have been fortunate to
be supported, trained and mentored by the Directors
of the firm.
I look forward to qualifying, growing and progressing
with the firm.

Junior Solicitors
Our solicitors work closely with our Heads of
Department, Directors, Associates and other team
members to deliver our services. They are the main
point of day-to-day contact with clients and are
responsible for keeping matters progressing smoothly.
They have the benefit of being trained and working
alongside our senior lawyers and we would expect
them to progress to such levels as the firm grows and
they grow.
Associates / Senior Solicitors
These are the front-line lawyers that our Heads of
Department and Directors depend upon to deliver a first
class legal service.
They have the knowledge, skill and ability to undertake
their legal work and manage projects both individually
and as part of a team. Our Associates are potentially
the future Directors and leaders of the Firm.
Trainee Solicitors
Trainees are based in our Harrow office working
alongside lawyers across our departments.
Trainees will have the opportunity to work in at least 3
of the firm’s specialist areas of law and also have an
opportunity to be exposed to other departments.
At this stage in their careers, we do expect trainees not
only to experience as wide a variety of work as
possible, but also contribute to delivering legal
services. They are essential team members.
Paralegals
We have a number of paralegals in various practice
areas in the business. Our paralegals provide an
integral role in supporting our qualified lawyers and
they, in turn, gain great exposure and a wide range of
responsibilities. Whether you are a career paralegal or
an aspiring lawyer, you will get to work with our
lawyers on interesting cases across a broad range of
areas.
Generally, paralegals who have proven themselves to
be capable and competent will be offered and will
progress to a training contract.
Other Professionals in our Firm
We must not ignore the wealth of talent we have in
those who are not lawyers, but are integral to the firm
and who may have other professional qualifications
and experience such as in finance, management,
consultancy, compliance, marketing, business
development, IT and administrative support.

  • 3. Foreword Vyman Solicitors Ltd was founded in 1998 and has grown from a 2 partner practice to a firm that employs circa 100 staff in Harrow and Kent. Our Directors, Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, Paralegals and support staff are the foundation of our practice. We could not have achieved the success we have without the massive support, hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and commitment of our team members.   • 6. I joined Vyman in November 2015 as a Senior Solicitor in the Litigation Department, having previously worked in both private practice and in-house. I was subsequently promoted to Director and Head of Litigation and now head a team of 3 solicitors and a paralegal. The quality of the work is excellent – certainly comparable to many City firms – and the Department has had a number of reported cases over the years. The Department has a breadth of knowledge and experience, and one of the best things is the collaboration amongst the team when one of us wants to ‘brainstorm’ a particularly difficult legal issue. The junior members of the department are given as much guidance and support as they need, whilst at the same time being taught how to stand on their own two feet and develop into confident, independent thinking lawyers by following a career path from paralegal to trainee to solicitor. There is a great deal of flexibility and autonomy in working at Vyman which everybody appreciates – all in all it’s a great place to work! Marcella Cox Director - Litigation Harrow Office Dispute Resolution Our well-respected team covers various areas of the dispute resolution world including commercial and business disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes, financial and banking litigation, property disputes, landlord and tenant disputes, insolvency related matters, professional negligence and wills and probate disputes. We provide cost effective and bespoke solutions to deal with cutting edge, high value disputes, many of which have an international element, in sectors such as the film and television industry, construction, banking and property investment and development. Our departments Commercial Property We offer a one stop shop for commercial property services (for investors and owner occupiers) from acquisition, planning, property development and property re/finance, through to construction, disposal and asset management. Our connections within the property and finance world are highly valued by our clients. We find practical commercial solutions, underpinned by a tenacious determination to get the deal done. Corporate & Business Law Our team provides professional advice for UK and cross-border corporate transactions, including private mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, corporate re-organisations, and corporate advisory work. We have a proven track record in corporate law matters, acting for numerous clients, ranging from well established companies and financial institutions to early-stage businesses, partnerships, and high net worth individuals and investors. Residential Conveyancing Our team strives to build excellent relations with all those involved in the property chain. We offer a range of services such as buying/selling, transfer of equity, equity release, shared ownership and help to buy. We provide cost effective bespoke services to all our clients. 5
  • 7. Immigration Our team has extensive experience in navigating clients through borders. Each immigration case is different. Our specialist areas include indefinite leave to remain, British citizenship, sponsorship licences, marriage/spouse visas, judicial reviews, immigration appeals, other family visas and more. Criminal Defence Our Criminal Defence department is one of the leading and largest in Kent. We are on a number of duty solicitor schemes and magistrates’ court schemes and we focus on legally aided criminal defence matters. 6 Employment Law Employment law governs what employers can expect from employees, what employers can ask employees to do, and employees’ rights at work. Our team provides legal advice for all employment law matters whether you are an employee or employer. We have a proven track record of successfully handling matters such as settlement agreements, redundancies, unfair dismissal claims, harassment and bullying, discrimination, breach of contract and more. Family Law Our family law department offers a high quality personable service to clients. Clients are offered a cost effective, bespoke service to help resolve the consequences of the breakdown of a marriage or relationship through discussion and negotiation. Our specialist areas include divorce, separation, financial and property claims, domestic violence, children matters including contact and residence disputes. We also advise on and prepare pre-nuptial and post- nuptial agreements. Private Client Our private client team provides tailored advice on wills, trusts and probate, helping clients protect their assets for future generations. We provide specialist advice on inheritance tax, digital assets, estate planning and lasting powers of attorneys. After graduating from Warwick University in 2017, I joined Vyman Solicitors as a Paralegal. I was impressed with the support, responsibility and mentoring provided from day one. Everyone was willing to take time to teach me how to complete certain tasks that were new to me. After completing my LPC, I was thrilled to be offered a training contract where I gained exposure to Directors/Senior Solicitors in different areas such as Family Law, Commercial Property, Wills and Probate. As a newly qualified Solicitor, I chose to specialise in Family Law - I am still learning and I look forward to developing my skill set and building strong relationships with clients. Roles within the firm Heads of Department Each of our Heads of Department has a proven track record of being a successful lawyer and team leader. They are responsible for managing their teams, client relationships and business development. Their strengths and qualities include leadership skills, wisdom and maturity of thought and judgment, being highly respected based upon a strong reputation, being a team player and being commercially aware and astute. They are skilled in business development, entrepreneurship, marketing and management of clients, people, finances and risk. 7 Directors Each of our Directors also has a track record as a successful lawyer, client and people manager and committed team player. They are also able to demonstrate good business development and marketing skills, client retention and management skills, entrepreneurial skills and a proven ability to train, supervise and manage other lawyers and support staff. Before joining Vyman Solicitors, I had worked in the City. This sparked my interest in commercial property, and I gained experience in dealing with all aspects of commercial property work ranging from landlord and tenant matters to sales and acquisitions. I joined Vyman Solicitors in 2016 as a Senior Solicitor and was promoted to a Director within a couple of years. Now, as Head of the Commercial Property Department, I actively look to grow the department, and nurture and mentor staff members to achieve their maximum potential. The Department has grown significantly over the last few years and currently is one of the largest within the firm. Each member (including paralegals, trainees, solicitors and senior consultants) plays an important role and contributes his or her own strength and expertise to the firm. Whilst the Department is busy and can be pressured at times, we have a great team ethos. We work together and help each other, which makes work both rewarding and enjoyable. I find that hard work and commitment is valued in the firm and is rewarded. I was subsequently offered a training contract giving me exposure to high value commercial property and share transactions, which meant more responsibility to handle matters myself and develop client relations. I enjoy the work that I do and have been fortunate to be supported, trained and mentored by the Directors of the firm. I look forward to qualifying, growing and progressing with the firm. Gaurav Anarkat Trainee Solicitor Harrow Office 8 Junior Solicitors Our solicitors work closely with our Heads of Department, Directors, Associates and other team members to deliver our services. They are the main point of day-to-day contact with clients and are responsible for keeping matters progressing smoothly. They have the benefit of being trained and working alongside our senior lawyers and we would expect them to progress to such levels as the firm grows and they grow. Associates / Senior Solicitors These are the front-line lawyers that our Heads of Department and Directors depend upon to deliver a first class legal service. They have the knowledge, skill and ability to undertake their legal work and manage projects both individually and as part of a team. Our Associates are potentially the future Directors and leaders of the Firm. Trainee Solicitors Trainees are based in our Harrow office working alongside lawyers across our departments. Trainees will have the opportunity to work in at least 3 of the firm’s specialist areas of law and also have an opportunity to be exposed to other departments. At this stage in their careers, we do expect trainees not only to experience as wide a variety of work as possible, but also contribute to delivering legal services. They are essential team members. Paralegals We have a number of paralegals in various practice areas in the business. Our paralegals provide an integral role in supporting our qualified lawyers and they, in turn, gain great exposure and a wide range of responsibilities. Whether you are a career paralegal or an aspiring lawyer, you will get to work with our lawyers on interesting cases across a broad range of areas. Generally, paralegals who have proven themselves to be capable and competent will be offered and will progress to a training contract. Other Professionals in our Firm We must not ignore the wealth of talent we have in those who are not lawyers, but are integral to the firm and who may have other professional qualifications and experience such as in finance, management, consultancy, compliance, marketing, business development, IT and administrative support.
