The MileGate SHDSL EFM line
card SUSE1 from KEYMILE
brings symmetric high-speed
business connections to the end
customer. Thanks to the imple-
mented EFM protocol (Ether-
net in the First Mile) and with
its integrated and progressive
DSLAM the introduction of new
business services is as simple as
never before.
Together with POTS and ISDN
modules traditional and broad-
band high-speed NGN services
are available in a single network
element.
SHDSL EFM in MileGate■
Modern services as VoIP, broad-
band Internet and video confer-
encing can be provided using the
SHDSL transmission in MileGate.
In addition company networks
can be interconnected with high
speeds thus opening new
turnover potentials to network
operators.
With EFM the network operator
now can use the same protocol
from the centre up to the cus-
tomer CPE. This saves costs
during introduction and opera-
tion.
Pair Bonding■
SUSE1 provides pair bonding up
to four pairs, supporting different
rates on the pairs of a bundle for
optimal bandwidth. The traffic
remains in case of line-faults, as
long as at least one pair of a
bundle is operating.
Broadband via SHDSL.bis■
With the implementation of
Annex F and G from the ITU-T
G.991.2 standard, SUSE1 is able
to transmit up to 22.8Mbps over
four wire pairs

Distributed Network Clock■
The SHDSL clock can be synchro-
nised to the MileGate system
clock. So a connected CPE can
also synchronise to a distributed
network clock via MileGate.
Safety Concept■
MileGate offers fail safety in
carrier-grade quality. For this
purpose all modules come with
decentral onboard power sup-
plies. In addition the central
module can be made redundant
to guarantee for optimum fail safety.
