Our Byron Bay Organics brand is about celebrating
Australia’s rural heritage and our beautiful natural
environment. The famous holiday destination of
Byron Bay has become synonymous with leading
boutique quality food lines that have reached national
prominence and household familiarity through the
entrepreneurial spirit of some local food pioneers with
vision.
Here at Byron Bay Organics we have developed strong
long term relationships with certified organic farmers
across Australia and the four Australian grown certified
organic product lines presented in this proposal are
exclusively available through our network.
Each individual line of certified organic food in our
introductory range has it’s own boutique theme based
on original photographs of beautiful Byron Bay by
leading local photographers.

CHICKPEAS

Chickpeas have a delicious
nutlike taste and a texture
that is buttery, yet
somewhat starchy and pasty.
A very versatile legume,
they are a noted ingredient
in many Middle Eastern
and Indian dishes such
as hummus, falafels and
curries and are a staple for
vegetarians.
Like other beans, Chickpeas,
are rich in dietary fiber.
They are a good source
of protein. and the trace
mineral manganese (which
is an essential cofactor in
a number of enzymes important in energy production and
antioxidant defenses). Chickpeas can boost energy because
of their high iron content, can lower LDL (bad) and total
cholesterol and contain significant amounts of folate and
magnesium. Folate lowers the levels of the amino acid,
homocysteine and strengthens the blood vessels. Studies
have found chickpeas lower the risk of heart attack
For Women: Chickpeas contain phytochemicals called
saponins, which can act as antioxidants. It could lower the risk
of breast cancer, protect against osteoporosis and minimizes
hot flushes in post-menopausal women.
Due to high fiber content and low GI, chickpeas are excellent
for weight loss diets. Salad with chickpeas are tasty and can

Asia and North Africa
and is one of our oldest
sources of food. A cousin
to the pea and a rich
provider of protein and
carbohydrates the lentil
is also a good source of
calcium, phosphorus, iron
and B vitamins – making it
an important diet staple the
world over.
Whole Green Lentils are
ideal for warm salads,
casseroles and stuffing as
they tend to retain their
shape after cooking.

times, being one of the first
crops domesticated in the
Near East. Archeological
evidence shows they were
eaten 9,500 to 13,000 years

When cooked, whole red
lentils form a rich puree and
therefore are superb for
thickening dishes such as
soups and casseroles. They
are also often cooked with spices to make the Indian side dish,
dhal.

a rich golden colour as you
may expect from their name!
They have a mild nutty
flavour and are a natural
source of essential fatty
acids including omega-3 and

The seeds come from flax,
one of the oldest fiber crops
in the world - known to
