This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of open source and how to get started with open source. The workshop was designed to motivate students to be an active open source contributor and participate in the upcoming Google Summer of Code 2022.

- Maya Treacy - Leidos
Maya Treacy is a Graduate Software Engineer at Leidos with an interest in web/mobile app development and IoT. She has previously participated in the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) in 2020 with AnitaB.Org Open Source as a student developer, where she initiated the BridgeInTech project. After GSoC, Maya has continued to volunteer as a backend and frontend maintainer of BridgeInTech. Outside of tech, Maya is a keen foodie, and her other favourite things to are dancing and spending time with her family.
- Emil Mikulic - Google Australia
Currently an engineer working on ChromeOS, Chromeboxes, and more. Previously he has worked on open source observability software, on internal storage infrastructure, and in operations. He runs Linux and FreeBSD, maintains a couple of GitHub projects, and also self-host some infrastructure for himself and his friends.
