We call on International Criminal Court (ICC), and UN Security Council, to arrest and prosecute
all sponsors of riots and terrorism in Nigeria since 1960s. Millions of Igbos and other
Southerners have been massacred in the North. This spanned Gowon era, and are still being
killed up to date. Calling for probe of Former Army Chief Ihejirika, by some disgruntled persons,
is a diversion to the wickedness, and genocide against Igbos for decades, under the sponsorship
of Northern elite. There is hardly any hamlet in the South Eastern Nigeria that is not bereaved of
people killed in sponsored religious riots or violence in the North.
Many of the perpetrators are still alive ; and have gone ahead to finance terrorist groups, in
order to rule Nigeria perpetually. They have their private armies like Boko Haram ; who have
killed ten of thousands of people, displaced millions of people ; destroyed property worth
billions of dollars. They are committing robberies, rape, arson, adoption, and all worth not.
In the midst of these atrocities, it is an act of wickedness for anybody or group of persons, to call
for probe of Ihejirika for fighting the insurgents. He remains one of the best Chiefs of Army Staff
Nigeria has ever produced. He drastically reduced god-fatherism and tribalism in the Army by
appointing GOCs from all the six Geo-Political Zones of the country, among others things. If he
had remained in office, we wouldn’t have been talking about take-over of some towns by
insurgents and their backers; which include some military dictators ; who want to ‘recapture
power’ at all cost.
Dispatching B-52 Bombers, and other sophisticated weapons by International community,
remains lasting solution to terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria. We highly appreciate US and
other nations assistance. However, we are eager to see B-52 Bombers display in Nigerian
airspace. Then the terrorists will run helter skelter for safety like rabbits! Visit :
