Making a Sugar Glider
DINING ROOM!
Your new dining room can be made out almost any kind of plastic container. This could be a Tupperware™ or Zip Loc™ type of bowl – or even a plastic shoe box. Pretty much, anything like this will work, just as long as it:
1) is clear, so you can see through it,
2) has a sealable lid,
3) is big enough so your Sugar Gliders can still sit on the edge of their bowl and eat, (about 4 inches tall or taller), and
4) fits easily in the door of your cage and sits flat on the floor.

1) Once you’ve picked out the right bowl, and made sure you will easily be able to get in in & out of the cage without spilling the food inside, cut one hole on each side of it that is approximately 1 ½ to 2 inches in diameter. If the plastic is thin enough, a pair of scissors will work fine, otherwise you will need a knife or a hole saw to cut heavier plastic.
2) Once you’ve cut the holes, take a piece of sandpaper and make sure to smooth out any rough or sharp edges around the holes. This way your Sugar Gliders won’t accidently cut themselves getting in & out.

3) Now that the holes have been cut and the edges are smooth, flip the lid of the container upside down and put your food bowl (filled about half-full) and a slice of fruit on it.
4) Once the food is in place, just flip the container over on top of the lid and push down until it “clicks” or seals into place.

5) At this point, all that’s left is to put your Sugar Glider’s new dining room in their cage – and you’re ALL SET!
6) Like we said at the beginning, your dining room can be made out of almost any plastic container – just as long as it meets the above FOUR criteria. In this case, a large plastic shoebox (the kind you can easily find in WalMart or Target) was used since it was being made for three Sugar Gliders in the same cage.
CONCLUSION: Well, that’s about it! As always, we LOVE to hear new things from our customers, so if you come up with a particularly ‘creative’ or FUN dining room (or any OTHER fun, Sugar Glider-related ‘craft project’) that other people could make as well, email us some pictures of it at: customerservice@pocketpetsonline.com
