partnership that delivers the following core services
through the LEP (Local Education Partnership):
The LEP, which comprises Tameside Metropolitan
Borough Council, BSF Investments Limited and Carillion,
will initially deliver 12 secondary and special schools, at
a capital cost of £173 million in the current wave of the
BSF programme. This wave will include 2 privately
financed schools on which Carillion began construction
February 2009, and two design and build schools on
which Carillion began construction in September 2009.
Carillion will provide facilities management services over
the 25 year concession period, with an approximate
value of £21 million for all 4 schools. All 12 schools in
the current wave of the BSF programme will be
completed by the end of 2012.
The LEP will also deliver further new schools for
Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council in waves 10 –

As part of the BSF programme, the new funding will
mean that a total 19 local secondary schools, academies
