3. Matthew
2648 Now he that betrayed him
Gave them a sign, saying,
Whomever I shall kiss, that
same is he: hold him fast.
49 And forthwith he came to
Jesus, and said, Hail, master;
and kissed him.
50 And Jesus said unto him,
Friend, wherefore art thou
come? Then came they and
laid hands on Jesus and took
him.
1 Corinthians
1114 Doth not even nature itself
teach you, that, if a man have
long hair, it is a shame unto him?

9. INTER RETERS
To maintain continuity with tradition.
To allow every institution to be seen as the result of all the
shaping it underwent throughout its past (both good and bad).
To use creativity to determine how institutions
need to adapt in order to preserve the faith.
To honour the faiths of predecessors, (past).
To preserve the faith, (present).
And to trust God, (future).
Numbers 13:4 “…return to Egypt.”
10. VISI NARIES
Silence as a preferred alternative to hasty speaking.
Possess a bird’s-eye-view of situations/concerns.
Patience – good ideas spread through time. Seed planted by one, nurtured by
another, reaped by another.
Does not involve idle waiting, stalling, or avoiding.
Realistic grasp of “what is” combined with “what could be”.
Benefit for others in the practice of selflessness, i.e. universities, hospitals,
cathedrals.
See resources and communities as molds and potters able to further cultivate
a world closer to the one God originally envisioned for us.
11. Seek to avoid snuffing out vitality and destructive conflicts.
“Overaccepting” – Conglomeration of efforts into a larger whole. Each subsequent
move reconceives the idea in more productive and redemptive ways.
“Reincorporation of the lost” – Retrieval of previously omitted events/aspects to
reaffirm the faith of ancestors, and stresses the importance of paying attention.
Balance between powerful & powerless because the powerless still possess about 50%
of history.
Broad view of humanity. Narrow focus tends to block potential sources of influence.
