Involved a great amount of independent study and research throughout the course, particularly when completing my
dissertation, which required me to create a high quality, well researched thesis on the North East of England during the
early Medieval period. Other modules completed during this degree include​ ​Ecclesiastical Latin, Source Criticism, and
Paleography.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR AT LABOUR PARTY OFFICES DUDLEY NORTH SUPER WARD – (APRIL 2011­OCTOBER 2011)
− Answered calls from local constituents, gained invaluable experience of an office workplace
− Improved ability to manage large volumes of information, utilizing Excel for data collection on local constituents
voting habits and party memberships, allowing us to optimize our reach in the area
− Drafted press releases for the local newspapers on a range of topics, allowing me to hone my writing while placed
under strict time constraints
WORKSHOP ASSISTANT AT ‘VIKING LONGSHIP TRADING COMPANY’ – (JUNE 2011­ SEPTEMBER 2011)
− Volunteer at the ‘Viking Longship’ workshop company, travelled throughout the country, from Manchester to
London, teaching on medieval history and Scandinavian culture at state, private, Jewish and Christian schools

− Elected to the role of Chairman of the Super Ward, chaired monthly meetings and communicated with local members
of the Labour party through monthly emails
− Organized leafleting campaigns, canvassing, and phone work
− Chaired and organized the nominating and voting­in of Labour candidates for local council elections, the most vital
role Super Wards are responsible for
PRESIDENT OF HULL UNIVERSITY HISTORY SOCIETY – (MARCH 2013­ JULY 2014)
− President of one of Hull’s largest and most active student societies
− Chaired weekly committee meetings and communicated with the team of 5 committee members through regular
emails
− Oversaw and budget­managed several large social events
− Built up society and encouraged to recruitment of many new members
− Organized trips to several sites of historical interest, such as York and Bruges, Belgium
SOCIAL SECRETARY, HULL UNIVERSITY AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY – (MARCH 2013­ OCTOBER 2014)
− Responsible for organizing large scale events for the society, including the annual ‘Secret Policemen’s Ball’
− Planned and headed other large fundraising events to contribute towards a variety of aid efforts, including relief in
the Philippines post Tsunami

demonstrate against Guantanamo bay and the Saudi Dictatorship
