FIG can be eaten either fresh or dry and has a sweet taste and variety of health benefits
that it provides .Though in India fresh FIGS are available but they can be made into value
added products such as FIG Jam, Dessert, Dried, Tea Powder, Bars, Powder, Chips. The high
amount of calcium, iron and potassium present in it along with the high amount of fiber and
low fat makes it a healthy food. Their natural sweetness and unique texture also makes
them a wonderful addition to both savory and sweet dishes.

Fig wine is a fermented fruit drink made primarily
from the juice of fresh figs though the process is
often much more complicated.
Most of the time, the term “wine” describes a
specific sort of grape fermentation process. Using
figs yields similar results where taste and
appearance are concerned. The main differences
are in structure and process.
Grapes are the crux of wine-making operations
because of their natural high acid content and their
ability to ferment easily. The same is not usually
true of figs. A fig is a much fleshier fruit than a
grape and often contains much lower
concentrations of sugar and natural acid .
Market Size - Globally
The global wine market size was valued at USD 417.85 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at
a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.4% from 2021 to 2028. The rising adoption of wine
among all age groups from the young generation to the old age population across the globe is the
key factor for market growth.
Wine is an integral part of European cultures and this cultural trend is increasingly gaining
popularity in various other parts of the world including Asian countries. The young and working-
class people in these regions are including wine in their diet, house parties, and occasional
drinks. These consumer trends are expected to fuel the market growth over the forecast period.
The increasing consumption of wine among consumers has been acting as a major driver for the
industry. According to a study promoted by the European Association of Wine Economists and the
Chaire Vins et Spiritueux de INSEEC U., in May 2020, the frequency of the consumption of wine has
increased significantly during the confinement phase resulting from the outbreak of coronavirus in
Spain and the rest of Europe.

Market Overview
The Indian wine market is estimated to US$ 150 million and growing at a Compound Annual Growth
Rate (CAGR) of 20-25 per cent. The Indian wine market classified into domestic and imported wine
which account for 70 per cent and 30 per cent, respectively. The sector has witnessed significant
consolidation within the last decade wherein larger wineries business houses acquired small players
in different states to optimize the taxation and overcome differential taxation policy among states

The major cities having the wine consumption in India is Mumbai (32%), Delhi (25%) Bangalore
(20%), Pune (5%) and Hyderabad (3%).

There are three types of wine available in the country:
(a) Premium Wines (Still wines)
(b) Sparkling Wines
(c) Fortified wines.

WINERY IN BELLARY
As India has many players who are focused only on grape wine, we
have developed wine from fig which has many nutritional values and
requires a special process. We have a qualitative production of figs
leveraging around 1500 -2000 acres in Bellary Karnataka.
In India, Karnataka is the largest of winery production and
commercialization. So we are targeting Karnataka as the major sales
region to commercialize our fig wine as we have wine board &
horticulture support along with minimum excise tax.
Even for sales Karnataka has a total of 11,894 winery stores,
boutiques, tavern and micro brew to reach the customers where
accepting level is very high.
