3. 1. INTRODUCTION
This energy report will present a storey-building energy analysis. This ener-
gy analysis will be based on the conditions of location climate, building type and
occupant use, design and specifications, and building orientations. The listed con-
dition are not correlated but generate the embodied energy consuption for the
building. Although prescribed data is used in standard conditions, the result of this
energy report will become more refined as the inputs are updated to make the
model responsive and dynamic.
1.1 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this energy analysis uses Apache HVAC and Vista Pro from
IES to analyze an floor of HK School Model. The student need to bring HVAC Zones
from Revit Model to convert in IES and analyze it.
1.2 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
• A Key plan of your Zones from Revit with colors of the different zones
• Show your Report from the Content Manager
• Discuss and evaluate some of your findings using VistaPro to back up your find-
ings. i.e. Rooms or Zones that are affected the most, maybe due to building orien-
tation
• Create a Room Heating Load Summary showing all your spaces

5. 3.2 FINDING THE HIGHEST (HEATING) & LOWEST (COOLEST)
The highest (heating) and lowest (Coolest) is in Zone 5 of Level 3
3.3 COMMENT
131 Technical Room is closed with the shaft where does not apply HVAC Sys-
tem. Moreover, it is also near outside the west-facing of the building. It makes total
sense that this room will be the highest for Cooling and Heating. Meanwhile, 167
Public Space is in the middle of the building with more curtain wall on the facade
of the building; therefore, it makes more sense to be the lowest Cooling and Heat-
ing room.

4. IES VISTA
4.1 AIR TEMPERATURE
Using Vista Pro to Analyze and Create Comparison Simulation Report in 131
Technical Room and 167 Public Space.
Analyzing Air Temperature
between May and September in
these rooms.

4.2 COMMENT
After running both rooms on IES using VISTA, It shows that with the heating
load, the peak date for the warmest Air Temperature is in July. It makes more sense
because it is in the middle of Summer on the place is closed with the equator.
Space 131, Air Temperature in celsius, is 29.16 at a peak time of 23:30. It makes
total sense that in the night time at that area is the highest radiation heat by solid
walls (Refer to Sun Path in HongKong). Meanwhile, Space 167’s air temperature is
32.89 at a peak time of 16:30. Due to curtain Walls is radiated heat faster than solid
walls.
