To whom it may concern:
With an AWS-CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification and a combination of 7 years’
experience in the refining and fabrication industry, it is with a great deal of confidence that I present
my resume for your review. You will note that the skills that I have gained are those that every
employee should possess in order to contribute towards the success of their employer. Over the years I
have demonstrated my ability to gain knowledge in any field when given the opportunity. With
certainty I can say I gave my past employers a quality of work that either met or exceeded their
expectations.
Here are the skills and attributes that I possess of which I am confident would make me of value
to your company:
Quality Assurance – As an inspector for Wilson Welder Qualifications, I am responsible for
checking and correcting any mistakes that might be on PQR’s, WPS’s and WPQ’s.
Quality Control – I am responsible for insuring that all applicable variables are correct during
welder qualifications. (e.g. material size and grade, electrodes, welding parameters etc.)
Safety – As a production operator at Sherwin Alumina one of my day to day duties consisted of
daily walk-through’s of my area, insuring that all MSHA regulations were adhered to.
Leadership/Team Player – As an iron worker for Gulf Marine I was responsible for a crew of
fitters and crane operators. Through our combined efforts, we were able to finish our assigned
task well ahead of schedule.
Self-directed – As a production operator I worked my unit with little to no supervision. I was
solely responsible for making sure my unit kept up with production.
Communication – I have been a part of many Stand-up Safety Meeting/Turnovers where safety
concerns, production status and various other issues were relayed to the oncoming shift.
Ability to grasp various concepts and ideas – Gained an understanding of different welding
procedures and performed many welder qualification as per API-1104, ASME Section IX and
D1.1.
High/Moderate Computer Skills – I can navigate my way through Microsoft Word, Excel and
PowerPoint creating/editing documents as needed. I welcome the chance to learn new
programs and systems.
Bilingual – Spanish is my second language. Although I may not be fluent, I am able to carry a
conversation and convey whatever information needs to be addressed.
I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and further discuss how I would be a great asset to
your company. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
