2. How to do it?
• Do Layers
• At first, do the beneath colour layer (do not put to much ink,
gouache can crack)
• After that, start to do the darkest details
• And finally, put the lightest colours and work on details
• Be careful with the layers
• The gouache is pasty so it is a good idea to put some drops of water
• If the layers are to thick you should spread the ink (the ink can
crack)
• If they are to thin, they will look like water paint, not gouache
• Top layers are normally thinner and more solved in water (to do
details)
• Reference
• Always based the colours on your reference’s colours
• Choose a good reference (good light, colours and composition)
