The Petco Foundation was created in 1999 by Petco to support animal welfare causes. It operates based on the principles of reducing pet homelessness, rescuing animals from shelters, rehabilitating pets, and helping people rejoice in pet adoption. The Foundation raises awareness through its website and store adoption events, provides education on pet care to help with consideration of adoption, and funds shelters directly. Its goal is to help homeless animals find homes to prevent euthanasia.
