I stopped at a gas station to get gas where I saw a big blue construction truck parked. When I
could not get my gas there, I went to a station up the street where I encountered the driver of
the that truck dressed in his yellow caution vest. He had ran out of diesel fuel one exit from his
destination. With a heavy Armenian accent, he asked the gas station attendant for a taxi. I
mentioned I drove for Lyft. So we embarked another Lyft adventure "driving you happy."
I drove Tony to his destination station on Crenshaw near the construction site. The workers had
an extra 5 gallon can we could borrow. I then twice shuttled Tony with diesel fuel back to his
truck which still would not start. Diesel engines can be fickle and sometimes require starting
fluid. We then drove to locate such fluid to local gas stations, 7/11s, etc. using Yelp searching
and GPS navigation on my smartphone. Tony was challenged using his iPhone and needed
whatever I was there to contribute in that short time. We got him closer to his goal with support
and encouragement and exchanged numbers. Almost two hours later his boss came to help. I
was also compensated generously. That's when I moved on to my next ride.
Upon reflection. Are you perhaps like a stalled diesel Tonka truck out of fuel needing help
restarting? Maybe I am the starting fluid lift you need.?
