15. A major trend I saw throughout the designers was the capri pant. Fall fashion
is always full of structured, business looks. What stood out to me was the shorter
tailored pant in all of these looks. Some were shorter than others, but it seemed
that most designers were opting for a shorter hem on their tailored pants. I feel
that this has been a trend in denim wear for a few seasons now, but new to the
tailored pant. I could see this trend having an impact on business wear because it’s
a fun and different way to wear the classic tailored suit.

17. I was surprised to see the “poofy” sleeve trending in the fashion weeks. Many
of the designers went for a broad shoulder look in their top pieces. Some were
more extreme than others, but there was a definite trend with the strong shoulder
looks. I see this as more of a fad because it doesn’t seem to be very flattering to a
woman’s shape. I think the designers are wanting to introduce a new construction
within tops, and the new way to do that would be going against the tailored look. I
don’t see this trend lasting past this Fall season.

19. Almost every designer I watched during the fashion weeks had a trend of
mixing textures. There was lace mixed with leather, tweed mixed with silk, and so
on. It seemed that this trend brought a more dimensional element to the otherwise
plain colors of fall. I love the idea of mixing textures that usually don’t go together.
Mixing harsh with soft seems to be the overall trend, and I believe it to be very
fashion forward. I could see this trend sticking within the Fall/Winter seasons, but
when the weather becomes warmer people will want to solely wear lighter fabrics.
