The system is most useful for the customers who require the exibility of fast response time,
yet wants to depreciate the value of physical inventory held at their facility. Despite the
uctuation in the volumes from week to week or month to month, most of the times, the
scheduling system – Kanban used for production lines where the related product is produced.

Talking about the process of the Kanban scheduling system, it starts with a standard package
or shipment quantity de ned by the customer. Later two shipment worth of the product is
built, and released as per customer request. After shipping the product, another quantity of
the item is built to replenish our stock, so there are two shipments of product available any
time. However, for higher volumes, it can be customized, so that four, six, or more shipments of
an item are available and ready to meet the customer requirements.
Further, under a kanban agreement, the raw material should be secured in advance to
replenish stock. Consequently, to strike a balance between having enough raw material on
hand, details are worked out in advance to keep up with demand while limiting inventory
exposure for when the kanban agreement gets terminated.
