Reflection Paper On Academic Integrity
Prior to completing the Academic Integrity Program, I thought academic integrity was as simple "not cheating." I considered it a policy solely
implemented to ensure that students learned the material. To me, cheating was mostly plagiarism, or trying to pass off someone else's work as
your own. It was not until I completed the program that I began to understand the long–term effects of cheating on the peers, the professor, and the
institution. Now, I understand that cheating affects not just me, but also the other students in my courses and the university's reputation. I also

I have also learned how to focus in on what exactly I have questions on, instead of not understanding where to even begin looking for issues and
becoming overwhelmed. These practices have yielded success and project completion, and I will continue to do assignments in this fashion in
my future Computer Science courses. There were some behaviors defined in the program that I was surprised to find academically dishonest.
This is mostly because some of these behaviors had never occurred to me. This includes all the lab–related behaviors, such as dry lab data,
trimming data, cooking data, ecology tampering, and carelessness. Dry lab data is reporting data for samples that have not been analyzed.
Trimming data is cutting out the outliers from data that would "skew" your analyses, while cooking data is creating fabricated, new data to fit
your analyses. Ecology tampering is intentionally changing environments between experimental groups to yield the results that you want.
Carelessness is not paying close attention to something – calculations, lab procedures, etc. – and inadvertently reporting inaccurate results. All the
behaviors described are academically dishonest because students have the same responsibilities as professionally–trained scientists since they are

I plan on earning my Master's Degree within a year of Graduation. While I am currently in school, I will rely on my instructors, academic
counselors, graduation team, the GCU Online Library, and the school's other resources that will give me additional help when I need them. If I feel
lost or a subject seems too difficult, then I will ask e–mail my instructors and let he or she know that I am having difficulty and that I need help. If
I am feeling overwhelmed about school, I will seek the help and advice of my academic counselor to help me come up with a solution to help me
feel relaxed and not stressed with taking online classes. I know that I will be successful if I always ask and seek help here at GCU.
After all of this being said, I believe that I am a D1 in the development level, which is "The Enthusiastic Beginner" (Low Competence/High
Commitment). I would be enthusiastic and be highly committed to doing my job if I were to have a certain position or even as a student in
school on certain levels in my program, but at the same time, I would and still do not yet know all of the ropes yet. Right now I consider
myself a very curious, inexperienced person who does quite have the skills required for the job in hand or the things that I have learned in
school so far, but I am yet hopeful that I will learn to develop and learn more and more skills in the near future.

I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year I promised myself to push through all the
six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and
further. I set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was
the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in
Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete.
If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude
of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active
and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the
cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in
more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work,
brains and talent are just the starting point.

My Academic Struggles Research Paper
Math have been my academic struggles because I tend not to understand the concept. Not only the subject but also the timing on tests and
quizzes have also influenced me. During tests in my math class, I do not get enough time to finish my work which cause me to have a lower
grade even though I sometimes know what I'm doing. Test timing makes me struggles in my math class and I have to find a way in overcoming

brain has main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia holds the lentiform and the caudate.
The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain on the things going on with the human body.

The corpus callosum is a bundle of nerves that connects the two hemispheres. The area that passes and processes information concerning touch,
pain, temperature, and pressure on skin is the thalamus. The limbic system controls your behavior and emotions. It is involved in emotions
such as fear, rage, pleasure, and sorrow. In the prefrontal area of the frontal lobe emotional traits are controlled. In the temporal lobe expressed
behavior is controlled. The parietal lobe discriminates sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad
for nerves going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray area where thinking takes place.
The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors,
and shapes is the visual cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for analyzing data, performing
memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in
muscle movement. The cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain.
