3. CAN YOU SEE ME
was a fashion experience presented by Ilan A.P., Lukas Berg, and Benjamin Sam-
uels in early January 2022. The three up-and-coming fashion designers presented
each of their unique styles and collections at JAGARHAUS near Downtown Los
Angeles, with friends and family as models and an original soundtrack produced by
Omeed Almassi. Over two hundred people were in attendance, and all three design-
ers account the event as a massive success on many fronts.

4. Benjamin Samuels
“My friends are my
biggest inspiration at the
moment. Seeing them
grow and work towards
their goals is what push-
es me to be my best and
most creative self. Now
it’s time to make my
art into my work. I’m
working to build a cus-
tom clothing, costume
and jewelry store for
high-end commissions :
Mistakes Guaranteed by
Benjamin Samuels.”
5. “I was always interested in fashion, likely
having to do with my pops being so well
dressedthroughoutmyyouth.Iwouldhaveto
say my love for fashion was confirmed when
I met Ilan Pozeilov at an intro to fashion
construction class at Art Center Pasadena.”
“This show wouldn’t have happened with-
out Cameron Emamian. I mean it would
have, but not like it did! My job was to
collaboratively creatively direct along-
side Ilan and Berg as well as construct
the best garments of my life up to that
point. Models were friends and family.
I really didn’t have much to do with the
rest of the technical work, a testament
to how collaborative a project this was.”

7. Ilan
A.P.
“I got into fashion purely on
experiencing my surroundings and
having the ability to travel at a
young age. I would say at that
point I fell in love with design
and emotion. Things that are
functional and have a
purpose interest me greatly.”
“I met Lukas Berg
during the middle of
releasing and
documenting
one of his first
collections
under Scythe
Los Angeles
back in 2018.
For the first
time I had met
someone as
passionate and as
driven as me,
willing to spread
love rather than
judgment.
Immediately there
was energy and
Berg became
family.”
“I can’t say for sure
what’s next but there
is a lot of work to be
done.”
9. “I got into fashion work-
ing at a mom-and-pop
screen print shop, and
taking a fashion class at
Art Center Pasadena. Ilan
was actually a model for
my first photoshoot; He
introduced me to Benji at
his fashion show fitting.”
“To put a show togeth-
er with Benjamin and
Ilan was a dream come
true, it was something we
had always talked about
since we started togeth-
er. After years of us do-
ing our own thing, sew-
ing and developing our
own styles, we were like,
okay, now’s the time.”
“I’m working on a few
new projects, including
an outerwear line as well
as some smaller exper-
imental capsules. As a
creative I don’t want to
stick to just one thing,
so I’ve been producing
and making music a lot,
working on a sunglass
collection and some jew-
elry and accessories.”

ROME
“My pops owned a studio when
I was a kid, and just seeing the
equipment and mics and everybody
having fun…when you see some-
thing that looks cool, you try it
out.”
Rome is 24 years of age from the Crenshaw Dis-
trict of Los Angeles; he raps, produces, engineers,
and runs a very busy studio in West Hollywood.
Last month he dropped his first song as a solo art-
ist, which he tells us is the first of many.
21. “I was forced into it in a weird way. I was
18 and I couldn’t live where I was living at
no more. And it was either move deeper into
a dangerous area, deeper into the hood, or…
me and my bro at the time came up with this
idea of like, “What if we get a studio and just
live there and make music all day?” We didn’t
have time to think about it, we just ran with
it. We found it online, hustled up the money
with 9-5’s, and it took like two or three months
to put the down payment down. We were in
an empty room, no equipment, no nothing, just
in the room [laughs]. From there we learned
how to engineer, got clients, and then the studio
grew bigger and bigger - and now we’re here.”
