2. WHERENCE DIDST RUN OUR TIMING?
From the start came light and its absence
Day and night didst borrowed from their prowess
Everything going on as planned, beacons
Even before happenings were spent in seconds.
Now with the ageing of ages
We felt we didst birth more sages
But this maiden of ours is parting with shoes in hand
As we send her off running in rags.
Wherence didst run our timing:
That we’re losing to ourselves and letting it be,
That we’re letting the hands tick all away
And we burden tomorrow with a task to save today?

3. Yesterday the cocks crow and raise us from our sleep
And we marvel at creation and what she breeds,
But today we wake time-after, they later, to dust them off their
trees.
Whence didst run our timing:
That we sought for figs when the seed hath not been planted,
That we - busy being lazy -turn allies into thruways,
And we smile that we molested the day?
Wherence didst run our timing:
That the cow be milked, and not fattened,
That the bricks be laid when a foundation didst not seat,
That one should be a prince, thence a king?
Wherence didst run our timing?
She hath told you who fail to plan
To saddle, ready to paddle the sand,
And never to linger for gold in her game of darts.

4. Nay! We are turning like boxers who glory only in ducking
Punches, strayed off their fists, out there in our finding
Some know how to spend the kobo, others the naira
But here we have a golden currency sieving through our fingers.
We left her menaced, that she took on her heels
Being treated with scourges, she sought for the woods
Her integrity is ours, tis ours to groom and weave.
Tis a clarion call to clean our homes, we need our brooms
As we arm with our compasses and with lantern
To despise the elements and bring safe home our maiden.
