Welcome!
Umu Igbo Unite (UIU) – which literally translated from the Igbo
language means “Igbo People Unite or Children of Igbo Unite” –
supports African and Igbo cultural events, nationwide professional
networking events, community service activities, and significantly,
hosts an annual convention each year attended by over 1,000
individuals.
From its inception in 2005, Umu Igbo Unite is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
tax-exempt organization which works to connect and empower
professionals between the ages of 21 and 45 and of the South-eastern
Nigerian Igbo region, to promote Igbo culture in the United States.
UIU has a network of over 5,000 people and includes individuals of all
backgrounds, with many born and raised in Nigeria or born to
Nigerians who immigrated to the United States.
The Convention allows UIU to connect, mobilize and unite
extraordinary young professionals who are emerging leaders in their
professions nationally and internationally.
Support of the UIU National Convention also gives you access to
UIU’s network of over 5,000 Professionals that extend beyond
attendance this weekend.
