Editor's Notes
First, he explained the history behind the name of his hometown. In 1780-1781 Daniel Boone camped in that area. The camp was called Boone’s Station until Owsley County was organized in 1843, when it was named Booneville. Then, he showed the World War II Memorial and explained some historical facts about the World War II.World War II Memorial, near Courthouse in Booneville, no information found.
Next, they drove to the Abraham Lincoln Statue. After this historical stop, Beatrice declared that she would like to see the new Gulf Course that she read about on Trip Advisor.

The family drove to the Sag Hollow Gold Course. When they arrived there, Beatrice said that she would like to know more of the history of the area saying that she read on a review that the Course was built on a reclaimed mine land. Tom was excited to see that his granddaughter showed interest in history. He provided more details about the history of the could mining era in Eastern Kentucky. After 3 hours of exciting game, they were hungry.

In the morning, after the scheduled exercise, Diana asked Beatrice to show how to use the social media in deciding to which place to go for breakfast. After 10 minutes, Diana became as master in using Trip Advisor. The review of Dylan Mullins determined her to chose Hillbillies BBQ Restaurant in Whitesburg. They drove to Letcher County, enjoyed a delicious breakfast and decided to order lunch for to go since they planned to have a very busy day. Yesterday I received an e-mail from Diana describing me her trip in Eastern Kentucky.
“Dear Nicoleta,
Tom, Beatrice and I had an exceptional time in Letcher County and Owsley County. In the past couple of years we have traveled so much, but we never thought of Eastern Kentucky as a destination. We were amazed by the spectacular and breath-taking outlooks, especially on The Little Shepherd Trail. Tom was so happy to be back in his hometown and share his passion, history, with Beatrice and I. I loved hiking on the Bad Branch Falls and admire the rich biodiversity. I have not had so much fun on a vacation in a long time. Also, we are thinking to organize such trips once in three months because it turned out to be not expensive at all, and we are definitely going back. I discussed this trip with my friends with whom I work out and they want to join Tom and I on the next trip in Eastern Kentucky. I hope you had a wonderful time in Eastern Kentucky as well.Best,Diana”
