wrap, plastic bags or tubes, plastic
backed paper.
5. Equipment
Asepsis

• Put on gown, protective eyewear,
mask, wash hands, patient care
gloves - nitrile, and then utility
gloves.
• Choose a product that is
compatible with surfaces that are
being cleaned.
• Pre-clean and disinfect surface:

6. SPRAY-WIPE-SPRAY
• SPRAY- all surfaces with disinfecting agent
• Hold paper towel behind surface while spraying disinfectant
• Make sure not to spray directly onto over head light or control panels. Use wet
paper towel and wipe
• WIPE- vigorously with a paper towel
• Including hoses
The first 2 steps are the pre-cleaning portion
• SPRAY- all surfaces again and leave wet for longest contact time as indicated on label
(ranges from 1-10 minutes)
• 3 minutes for Cavicide - tuberculocidal
• Wipe dry if surface is still wet after waiting proper time
The last step is the disinfecting portion
