Small and medium-sized businesses have diverse, industry-specific waste disposal needs requiring
customized solutions. Nicholas ensures each customer has the services required to meet
their objectives, while controlling costs, improving productivity and developing sustainability
programs. As the single point of contact for his customers, Nicholas provides timely and reliable
service. Specifically, Nicholas aims to:
•	 IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND AESTHETICS:  Often, the configuration of the waste area is not
conducive to the way the customer operates. Containers may have been rearranged by the
previous tenant and current employees must traverse long distances or maneuver through
awkward layouts when disposing of trash. Nicholas analyzes the set up of containers based
on the customer’s business and proposes solutions to improve the workflow as well as the
appearance of the waste area. For example, containers can be relocated to accommodate
better foot traffic and compactors or balers can be installed to better control waste overages
and aesthetics. Once the area is properly configured and the container has been installed,
Nicholas monitors the customer’s tonnage and determines the most appropriate service
timing. With an educated eye for creating the most effective waste area, Nicholas has
helped customers improve operational efficiencies, making waste areas cleaner and safer, as
well as reducing overall costs.
•	 PROVIDE LOCAL, QUALITY SERVICE: Waste Management is not only the leading waste
services company in North America, it is also a local company with thousands of employees
living and proudly working in the community. As such, each employee takes service, safety
and sustainability very seriously. When Nicholas encounters a prospect that is dissatisfied
with their current waste hauler, he is excited to help. He knows by switching to Waste
Management, they will get the attention they need and the service quality they want.
From the start, Nicholas ensures they are set up correctly to maximize efficiency and avoid
overages and, in the rare event Waste Management cannot perform service as promised,
he makes sure the customer is immediately contacted and an alternate service schedule
arranged. Nicholas is proud be a part of this community, to work alongside his Waste
Management colleagues and to provide customers the high quality service they deserve.
