Projects
Senior Design Project May 2014 – April 2015
Susquehanna River Bridge Replacement
● Designed a new infrastructure using the allowable stress design philosophy following AREMA code requirements
● Design included 26 typical spans of 150 feet in length and a 250 foot Warren truss swing section made of 50W HPS
● Tapered I-beam girders were designed for the superstructure using STAAD.Pro V8i
● Reinforced concrete beams, columns and deck slabs were designed for the substructure using Structure Point
Structural Dynamics February 2015 – April 2015
Steel Building Design for Trenton, New Jersey
● Designed a 300’ X 200’ five-story steel building abiding by ASCE 7-10 code requirements using RAM Structural Systems
● Design focused on the structural behavior of the building when high wind pressures and earthquakes strike the area
● I-beam sections with yield strength of 50 ksi, were designed for the beams, columns and horizontal bracings
● Hollow structural sections were designed for the cross bracings with yield strength of 36 ksi, to increase the stiffness of the structure
Behavior and Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures March 2015 – April 2015
Reinforced Concrete Building Design
● Designed a 150’ X 210’ three-story concrete building abiding by ACI 318-08 code requirements
● Interior and exterior rectangular columns were designed using Structure Point
● One-way and two-way slabs were designed using Structure Point for the decking of the building
● Interior and exterior girders and beams were designed using Structure Point and investigated by hand calculations
