This document provides the instructions for making an oversized raglan pullover sweater using Lion Brand Moonlight Mohair and Incredible yarns. The sweater is knit in pieces and requires holding 3 strands of yarn together throughout. Sizes and materials needed are specified. Instructions are provided for the back, front, sleeves, and finishing. Gauge and abbreviations used in the pattern are defined. Notes about the yarns used are also included.

throughout.

When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. To follow pattern more easily,
circle all numbers pertaining to your size before beginning.
MATERIALS

• LION BRAND size 50 [25 mm] knitting needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• LION BRAND size 17 [12.75 mm] knitting needles
• LION BRAND stitch holders
• LION BRAND large-eyed blunt needle
GAUGE
4 sts + 4 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS) with larger needles and
holding 1 strand of A, B, and C together.
NOTE Due to the nature of the fabric, gauge may vary throughout the knitting.
STITCH EXPLANATIONS
skp Slip 1, knit 1, pass slip stitch over knit stitch.
sk2p Slip 1 as if to knit, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over—2 sts decreased.

BACK
With smaller needles and 1 strand of A, B and C held together, cast on 28 (34) sts. Work
4 rows of K1, p1 Ribbing. Change to larger needles and work in St st until piece
measures about 14” [35.5 cm] from beg, end with a WS row.
Shape Armholes
Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then dec 1 st at each edge every RS row 3 (2) times
more – 18 (26) sts. Purl 1 row.
Dec row (RS) K1, (sk2p), k to last 3 (4) sts, k3tog, k1. Repeat dec row every RS row 1
(3) more times. Place remaining 10 sts on a holder.
FRONT
Work same as for back until 18 (22) sts remain, end with a WS row.
Shape Neck
Place center 6 sts on holder. Join 2nd group of yarns and working both sides at the same
time, continue armhole dec. AT SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row
twice. Fasten off last st on each side.

SLEEVES
With smaller needles and 1 strand of A, B, and C held together, cast on 10 (14) sts. Work
4 rows K1, p1 Ribbing. Change to larger needles and work in St st, inc 1 st each edge
every 6th row 3 times – 16 (20) sts. Work even until piece measures about 16” [40.5 cm]
from beg, end with a WS row.
Shape Cap
Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows. S/M only Work 2 rows even. Both sizes Dec 1 st at
each edge every RS row 4 (6) times. Place remaining 4 sts on holder.
FINISHING
Sew 3 raglan seams so garment is flat.
Neckband
With smaller needles, 1 strand of A, B, and C held together and RS facing, knit across 24
sts from holders. Work 8 rows St st. Bind off very loosely.
Sew remaining raglan and neckband seam. Sew sleeve and side seams. Fold bound off
edge of neckband to RS and sew to first row of neckband. Weave in ends.
