shoes and bring in double the income he was making at the time
 By the end of that year Converse began selling basket ball shoes and other
sports shoes, the converse originals had Chuck Taylors’s signature on them .
 Marquis Grant had moulded his business Ideas with his cousins in order to
better his own creation and use her name and designs.

him as a marketing scheme to promote his shoes, Grant
also knew combining His company with Elishas would help
to create more variety in the business
 Grant set the goals he needed to achieve: He started off
with selling tennis shoes and by the end of that year had
several different sports show available in store
 Grant knew to manage stress : He did this while handling
more than one task at the beginning of his business, He
delegated work to Elisha in order to be less stressed
 Grant got along with people: Grant got along well with
people and had good social skills, he was able to persuade
an all star baseball player to work for a shoe company that
hadn’t even, at the time, got a proper brand name.

ideas to create his business, he started off from the very
bottom but did not for a second look back on his decisions to
leave his job and start again he believed in himself
 Innovated and creative : Grant had ideas that set miles
between his old company and where he is today. He knew
people wanted something different, he began selling a shoe
with a rubber sole.
 Realistic risk taker : Grant left the job he was in, the role of
manager and a good pay salary to start his own business in
this line, Grant weighed the possibilities of success against
failure and knew he had his cousins company to fall back on
 Decisive yet flexible : When Grant began to feel that his
designs were not getting the attention they needed he knew
changes had to be made, he joined his business with his
cousins existing business.
