Grammar Awareness Course (20 hours): Candidates have learned the fundamental structures and concepts that underpin the English language
and have been prepared to effectively communicate the key principles to students. The candidate has covered the core concepts of English
language, English tenses, key functions and pronunciation in their training.
Teaching English One-to-One (5 hours): Candidates have learned the key skills and approach required to successfully teach English one-to-
one. The candidate has covered the advantages of one-to-one learning, the pitfalls and solutions of one-to-one teaching, how to adapt their
materials and lesson ideas and how to identify their student’s needs in their training.
Teaching English to Young Learners (5 hours): Candidates have learned the key skills and approach required to successfully teach English to
young learners. The candidate has covered activities and games for young learners, motivating young learners, first lessons in English and
teaching methodology in their training.
Teaching to Large Classes (5 hours): Candidates have learned the key skills and approach required to successfully teach English to large
classes. Candidates have learned practical techniques and activities to ensure they have everything needed to step into a large class. The
candidate has covered dealing with mixed levels, grouping and student collaboration, student, assessment and feedback, engagement and
motivation, and activities for large classes in their training.
Teaching with Limited Resources (5 hours): Candidates have learned about the challenges facing teachers who do not have access to modern
equipment, adequate course materials and other teaching aids. Candidates have developed tactics and techniques for teaching effectively and
understand the need to be resourceful and imaginative. The candidate has covered how to teach with basic resources, how to involve students
in creating lesson materials, how to use your own and your student’s imagination and learnt about games and activities that require minimal
resources in their training.
Online TEFL Course (60 hours): Candidates have learned and practised the key skills of language teaching and have demonstrated the
ability to develop as an English Language teacher. The candidate has displayed a native-level knowledge of English and has had experience
using materials used in English language teaching. The candidate has displayed the ability to plan lessons and an awareness of classroom
management. The candidate has also displayed an aptitude to gain insight from feedback.
Video Practice Course (20 hours): The candidate has demonstrated that they can identify the most suitable presentation techniques for teaching
particular language or skills, and that they can devise appropriate practice activities for a particular lesson. The candidate has demonstrated
that they can adapt lesson activities for different proficiency levels and that they can identify potential problems that may arise during a lesson
and devise solutions.
Weekend TEFL Course (20 hours): Candidates have learned and practiced the key skills of language teaching and have demonstrated the
ability to develop as an English Language teacher. The candidate has displayed a native-level knowledge of English and has had experience
using materials used in English language teaching. The candidate has displayed the ability to plan lessons, both with and without the aid of
course books. The candidate has displayed an awareness of classroom management and has shown an ability to teach lessons that include
presentation along with practice and production activities.
