2. POSTMORTEM- 1
A body aged aged 30 yrs old found tied of in still box lying
near a bridge. On the PM examination the length of the body was
160 cm, face was found flashed, eyes were closed & congested &
lips were blue. Body was cold, rigor mortis present on the lower
limb. A transverse brownish hard & parchment like ligature
mark ½” broad was found encircling the neck & passing over the
wind pipe. There were abrasion about the margin of the mark. A
similar mark 5×½” found across the side of the neck above the
first mark. A 3rd mark 2×½” was found 1” below 2nd mark.
Larynx & trachea were congested & lungs were congested &
exudates dark fuid flood on section.

3. ANSWER
a) 24-36hr
since RM is present only on lower limb so
time since death is >24hrs
b) 5-10min
c) Homicide → Strangulation
Multiple ligature marks are present on neck
which may be due
to strangulation.
4. POSTMORTEM-2
A body of the Mahamadan boy aged 16yrs lying on the roof of the
bunglow, the face was swollen, tongue was protruded, abdomen
& scrotum swollen, body covered with a blister & emitting foul
smell.
O/E, following injury were found-
1) A bruise- ¼” on the…….nostril
2) A bruise- ¾×½” across the……lower limb
3) A bruise- ½×¼” upper limb
4) A semicircular & curve bruise 3×½” obliquely along the face
extending b/w the malar bone & angle of the mouth
5) Six bruises varying ¼×½” in the elbow
Inside the mouth & lips were livid & congested & exudates was
dark frothy blood. There were patches of subpleural ecchymosis
On the lungs and on the pericaridum.

a) 36 to 48hrs
since the body was swollen, blister & foul smell
(blister formation appear after 36-48hrs after
death)
b) due to combined effect of smothering & traumatic

- bruises around mouth & nostril
- lungs are congested &
- ecchymosis over pleura & pericardium
7. POSTMORTEM-3
A Hindu male aged 60yrs was found floating in water, face was
downwards, hypostasis was red in colour & present on chest,
abdomen & fixed. Bloody froth coming out from the nostril,
weeds & gravel found tightly in the hand. Cutis anserina present
on the skin.

9. POSTMORTEM-4
A man about to 40yrs found dead in a field with a stab wound on
The abdomen without any bleeding. Rigor mortis was present all
Over the body. Hypostasis present on the back & red in colour.
Several lacerated wound present on the dorsum of forearm.

A dead fetus was sent by the police for PM examination.
Length of the fetus was 37cm long & wt about 900gms.
The fetus was flacid, flat emited sweet smell. On disection
lungs were found to be near the vertebral column & solid.
Diaphragm at 4th ICS.

13. POST MORTEM-6
A burnt body of a woman aged 40yrs brought to the mortuary.
Body was in pugilistic attitude & except the face, left hand,
& perineal region, there were deep burn. There were lacerated
looking wound on the skin & various places without any
bleeding & rupture of blood vessels, fracture of the skull bone
on the both side & curve fracture present on the long bones &
soots were present on the trachea.
