WHIITE’S
SS 2016 Collection is inspired by Ophelia,
the Pre-Raphaelite painting by John Everett Millais
and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
ophelia
Shakespeare often served as inspiration to the
Pre-Raphaelites, famously depicted in Millais’s 1851-52 painting Ophelia
which portrays Shakespeare’s tragic figure
of Ophelia from Hamlet. In the painting, Ophelia floats
dreamily in a magical woodland setting.
For WHIITE’S SS 2016 collection, art makes its way
to the catwalk.
Inspiration for SS16 is ‘Multi Mix’, a melting pot
of clashing prints and pieces that work together to create a
stylish and unforgettable collection.
The two themes that instantly stood out
during the design process were ‘Baroque’ and ‘Bohemia’,
two looks within WHIITE’S existing repertoire.
The dualism of these contradictory looks work together
to create a balance between excessive and opulent
with easy and relaxed.

WHIITE
can be either soft and feminine, bold and structured
or sensual and alluring - its really up to the wearer.
The detailing in the workmanship, the crafts with which
the clothing is created, all tells a story and brings a sence of identity
to wearer and combinations within the collection.
