Pete Rue has more than 35
years of experience advising

He has extensive experience in
complex credit transactions and
is skilled at negotiating custom-
drafted loan agreements. Prior
to joining Briggs, Pete gained
20 years of banking experience

Matt Tomback has extensive

a significant portion of his

investment transactions. Matt

mortgage repurchase facilities,

loans and commercial real estate
transactions.

David Clark represents banks,

David Rubin has experience

for nearly a decade in the corporate
trust department at Wells Fargo

with honors, from Metropolitan

Peter Surdel assists clients
in structuring, negotiating,
and documenting various
financial transactions, including
traditional and asset-based
loan transactions, syndicated
credit facilities, private equity
investments, mezzanine and
other debt financings, real estate
matters and other commercial
transactions.
Prior to joining Briggs, Peter
was a member of the corporate
department and investment
services group at Vedder Price in
Chicago, where he represented
investment companies and
investment advisors on a range
of regulatory and transactional
matters.
Peter received his juris doctorate
from Harvard University Law
School and his bachelor’s degree
from Columbia University.
Jing Jin represents all types
of lenders and borrowers in
complex financing facilities and
structured lending transactions.
Prior to joining Briggs, Jing was
a member of the global finance
group at Sidley Austin LLP in
Chicago where she worked
extensively in fund financing,
structured receivables finance
transactions and asset-backed
securities across a range of
asset types. She also previously
was vice president of research
and projects development for
an investment fund based out
of Hong Kong.
Jing received her juris doctorate,
cum laude, from Georgetown
University Law Center,
completing part of her studies
at Tsinghua University Law
School in Beijing, and her
bachelor’s degree, cum laude,
from Princeton University.
She is fluent in Mandarin.
Ben Kajer joined Briggs in 2014
after receiving his juris doctorate
from the University of St. Thomas
School of Law, magna cum
laude, and his bachelor’s degree
from Boston College, magna cum
laude. During law school, he was

worked as a legal intern for the
Minnesota Vikings.
