The DHHS, NIH, NCI Technology Transfer Center (TTC) has a fellowship opportunity available to qualified candidates in one of the
fastest growing fields, technology transfer. This fellowship opportunity lets you combine your science, legal or business background
with a new career in the technology transfer field. The TTC is responsible for negotiating agreements and promoting research
partnerships between NCI scientists and outside parties such as universities and biotechnology/ pharmaceutical companies. These
research partnerships allow for federally funded research findings to be further developed and commercialized. TTC also has a unit
dedicated to marketing these research opportunities and their underlying technologies to potential collaborators and licensees. This
Fellowship experience prepares the Fellow for opportunities to advance into positions within universities, industry or the federal
government. This fellowship opportunity is designed to develop the unique skills associated with both negotiating technology transfer
agreements and marketing a large portfolio of exciting, cutting edge technologies being developed by a world renowned Institute
within the National Institutes of Health.
Candidate will be responsible for:
Drafting and negotiating Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) for NCI scientists and their
industrial/academic research partners;
Planning and negotiating Material Transfer Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements and other technology transfer agreements;
Development of technology transfer educational programs for scientists;
Overseeing patent related issues for NCI scientists;
Develop marketing strategies and company leads for NCI technologies;
Create marketing campaigns and descriptive marketing advertisements to attract research partners;
Monitor responses to marketing campaigns & develop business relationships with company business development sources;
Act as the liaison between the NCI and outside parties who request additional information on collaborative/partnering
opportunities;
Other duties as pertaining to intellectual property management and technology transfer;

Stipends are determined by the level of education and number of years of experience post-graduation. Starting stipends for those with
no experience are: Master's degree $33,900; Ph.D. $48,300. Starting stipends are higher with relevant work experience in technology
transfer and/or additional, applicable degrees. Stipends are paid monthly in arrears. Health benefits are provided. Annual stipend
increases may be given on the Fellow's anniversary date.
