3. HISTORY OF FIRE SPINNING
Ancient Aztecs performed a fire dance dedicated to Xiuhtecuhtli,
the god of fire.
Originally, poi were most commonly made from harakeke (New
Zealand flax, Phormium tenax)and raupō (Typha orientalis).
Poi spinning comes from Mauri civilization around New Zealand.
At that time, Pois were kind of an weapon and poi spinning was a
lethal form of martial art.
Now it is an art form, performed along with music, which is a mix
of little bit of dance but mostly a lethal martial art.

Naur is an Elvish Word which means
Fire of the Elves
It is a crew of 7 adrenaline junkies who are
passionate about arts and have come
together from different backgrounds and
fields to take entertainment business in to
the next level.
5. HISTORY OF NAUR
The First and only fire spinning crew in
Bangladesh
Founded in 2003 by Ashique and
Samiya Selim.
They founded NAUR school of Fire spinners
and from that time on, the successors take
over NAUR.
6. OUR SERVICES
We align Art and Entertainment through medium of fire and
light to achieve the Holy Grail of fire spinning.
Our primary motive is to entertain people, so we perform at
cultural or social events.
We also do TVC’s, Viral videos and music videos
We do shows with Fire pois
Recently we have introduced Graphic/LED pois to cope up
with the technological revolution and also to get the market
of the indoor shows
7. OUR SERVICES
Fire spinning performance of 5 people are given below:
Remuneration per spinner - 15000 taka x 5 = 75,000 taka
Safety Charge - 5000 taka
A total of 80,000 taka*
LED and Graphic Poi spinning performance of 5 people are given below:
Remuneration per spinner - 15000 taka x 5 = 75000 taka
Programming and designing charge - 40,000 taka
A total of 1,15,000 taka*
Both fire spinning and LED/Graphic Poi spinning performance are given
below:
Remuneration per spinner - 20000 taka x 5 = 1,00,000 taka
Safety Charge - 5,000 taka
Programming and designing charges 40,000 taka
A total of 1,45,000 taka*
* Transportation and accommodation costs are included if the shows are outside Dhaka
The prices mentioned above are agency rates and are not applied for University events,
as for universities we do shows according to their budget.
8. NAUR – School of Fire Spinners
We provide three months mentorship once a year to the
ones who are really passionate about Poi spinning.
We take maximum of 30 people to ensure the best
quality.
We take students as a first come, first serve basis.
The course fee is BDT 6000 taka.
Classes are on Fridays and once a week.
And from that course, we recruit spinners to do shows
with us.
