The report attempted to highlight the
present situation of RMG sector,
Bangladesh losing RMG market share in
US. Bangladesh lost its apparel export
market share in US markets to close
competitors last year. Due to losing price
competitiveness and lack of product
diversification. Right now, RMG sector
price competitiveness is a big challenge
for Bangladesh in the global markets.

contributes to the national economy.
The report tried to determine the RMG
marketing barriers regarding the
marketing mix. Identify the key global
competitors of RMG marketing of
Bangladesh and overcome the
challenge. Also, identify the
competitor’s key strength. The report
presents the marketing barriers from
four points of view in the field of global
RMG marketing.

RMG marketers have expressed the marketing barriers regarding product, price,
promotion, and place (distribution). In addition, marketers also described the
general marketing barriers in global RMG marketing.
This report also presents the how to regain market share in the US.

and down by 3.98% from 2016

attracting buyers and new foreign
investment whereas product
diversification must to retain consumer.
9. POTENTIAL AND CHALLENGES:
Bangladesh RMG sector has huge potential not only to
increase its global market share but also to meet the
growing global demand for apparel. The country’s RMG
sector has some core strengths:
100% local ownership
quality products at
competitive prices
implementation of social
compliance issues
most importantly, a
supportive government.
some challenges are also there Lack of market and product diversification
shortage of power and energy
dependence on imported cotton
The Cotton produced in ‘Barind’ areas of Rajshahi becomes successful, the RMG sector will
hopefully overcome many of its existing challenges.
