1. Letter of Reference - Wei Bai (Molly)
To whom it may concern:
Wei worked as a cost and data analyst intern for our company in
august 2013. (during her second year of undergraduate studies.)
Our Company had no role which needed a Maths Degree but I felt
we would benefit from having a pure maths student who would reveal
useful information. This did indeed happen.
As someone from a maths background with hardly any accounting
knowledge, the balance sheets and accounting figures initially
meant little to her but with her natural ability, Wei quickly
grasped the relationship of the figures to our real position and
situation.
Wei enthusiastically absorbed information and asked relevant
questions, she quickly started to become familiarised with some
of the basic concepts of accounting and our company’s financial
statements .
She produced ideas eg for ratios and graphs and then got on with
applying her skills to a variety of scenarios.
2. She has strong inherent abilities and so is a person with real
potential. Given the opportunity, her value to an employer will
soon become obvious.
Wei’s greatest abilities are : analytical skill, solving
mathematical problems, a natural thirst for knowledge, a sense
of responsibility, determination to do her best for her employer.
Her ability to solve problems is refreshing and enlightening.
For example: I once wanted Wei to find out the breakeven figure
and the increase or loss of our annual sales turnover, I have used
that graph ever since.
In problem solving, she has the ability to calmly analyse the facts,
ask pertinent questions, gathers all the relevant information
then consults with the appropriate people before she starts
working on a problem.
There is no doubt she will make her mark in life and profoundly
impress any future employer with her ability and enthusiasm, and
who will soon realise that she is a valuable asset.
Our best wishes are with her for her future happiness and success.
