 According to the Article 15, the ‘planned
economic growth’ is a constitutional
obligation for the Government of Bangladesh :
“It shall be a fundamental responsibility of the state to attain
through planned economic growth, a constant increase of
productive forces and a steady improvement in the material and
cultural standard of living of the people, with a view to securing
to its citizens – ’’

National Economic Council (NEC)
 Highest political authority for the consideration of economic
policies and development activities reflective of long-term
national policy objectives of the government of Bangladesh
 Economic "mini-cabinet", consisting of the main economic
ministers and their officials, and is chaired by the Prime
Minister.
Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC)
 verifies, imports, approves and advances national important
development projects, regardless of the economic status and
economic activities of the country.
 Provides formulation, review and approval. .
